I found the holiday I wanted and sent for my Cosmos vouchers (£365). When I phoned them today I was told that you have to pay full brochure price not the discounted one off the internet. I could have saved £252 by booking on the internet I would then have been able to spend my vouchers in Tesco. How is this a good deal. I think it is a con.

I think this is more of a warning than a rip off. It's a shame you can't get discounted deals, but it's stated very clearly in the information that the tokens can only be used against brochure priced holidays. If you're doing your normal shopping in Tesco, this is an additional bonus that you wouldn't have had otherwise.
  • But if you spent in Tesco you would have only have got a quarter of the value. Remember that using it for a holiday you get 4 times the amount of using it instore.

What, there could be hundreds of companies affiliated with them, do you expect them to list them all!

When he had to requote the price, the man said "I'm really sorry, I should have asked you if you were a Tesco customer before I did the first quote but I forgot".

I therefore assumed that they were supposed to ask all customers this before doing prices.
Here I go again on my own....

I dont think I have put this across very well. How is it a good deal even if you get 4 times the value if you have to pay more for the holiday in the first place.

In my case it worked out about the same. I got 4 times the value but lost out on the cost. So I might as well have spent the vouchers in Tescos and gone for the discounted price.

Just thought other people would like to know that it is not always a good deal. I am saving for a ferry crossing next but I shall compare prices before I take it up.
