Hello, our holiday has just been cancelled for next week by our tour operator "Travel Republic." They have said that they will cancel the package holiday because of the UK FCO advice not to travel.     Travel Republic are going to return to the original invoice charged.  However, they are going to give me a credit note, which I am to use within 6 months of issue against a further holiday.
My issue is this, I already have a holiday booked for September and I cannot get the time to rebook this one.
Can I raise a Section 75 or chargeback to get Travel republic to pay me in cash?   I paid the whole amount on my Tesco and MBNA credit cards.
Any advice will be appreciated.

As per many other posts on this subject.
If you do not want a credit note. Tell them you want a refund.

if it is a package holiday then you are covered under the ATOL rules and entitled to a full and immediate refund if the holiday is cancelled
