Amazon don’t care

I had a thought this morning regarding potentially infected Amazon delivery drivers and came up with a solution – after a similar suggestion in a email from Papa Johns

Why not allow drivers to txt customers, minutes before a delivery is due and this would allow customers to watch out for the delivery and the driver could then leave the parcel by the front door safely and not involve face to face contact

I had an on-line chat with Amazon this morning and suggested it – you would  have thought that Amazon would look into this – but I was given short shrift and told “SORRY NOT POSSIBLE – IT WOULD TAKE  TOO LONG”

Amazon clearly are more interested in profits than customer safety

I absolutely think Amazon should look at putting a system in place, but you can do that yourself.

Stick a notice on your front door asking for the parcel to be left outside due to isolation etc.
There are already templates floating around the internet.

You know when it's out for delivery so put it up then, and can take it down when the driver has been.
  • My Royal Mail postie knocked on the door today and said parcels are down by the door we are not allowed to pass them! I do not understand the logic behind this!
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

Most of the time I get a message when my parcel is 8 stops away - I can see the van moving on a map. I can also designate a safe place to leave my parcel. I get notifications when the parcel has been deliveredq. Where's the problem?
