Really feel for my darling daughter she works for a big superstore and as we know home delivery has gone mad. She has to deep clean the boxes that come in from people who are self isolating and needs a miracle today as has 14000 items to pick and 3 staff off sick. Goodness only knows what will happen.
Darling husband working at home now so at least i have company DS2 has to self isolate as someone in his office has symptoms so we are on tenterhooks.
OS DD is sending me some antibacterial items as can't get them locally and we at risk need to keep cleaning as much as possible - she sending them from Scotland! Worrying times indeed.
Happy Birthday Snoozer xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.13 -

Good morning all,Happy birthday Snoozer, enjoy baby today xDH has gone to work but he's working outside so not too bad, contact with other folk is minimal. He'll finish the job soon, and he's thinking the next job might be cancelled or delayed, the downside of being self employed with no money coming in. I've got fairly good stocks of food in so we'll have to manage. My biggest worry is that DS is still living here as his house renovation isn't finished, and our DGC stay over, both are at school.I rang my friend to cancel todays coffee & cake meetup, she doesn't have the best of health & her son who lives with her is disabled in a wheelchair - scary timesIn the spirit of making do I took a pack of sausagemeat , and one of puff pastry left over from Xmas, and mixed in leek and chopped apple to make a giant sausage roll pie-seemed to go down well
ย
Right better go and walk hound, left it later than usual on purpose hoping the park might be quieter. Take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -

Good morning everyone
ย
I slept for 4 hours straight last night and feel wonderful today. I have been so tired waking up every hour or two for months now so it was such a lovely surprise to see the time when I opened my eyes. I think making an inventory of all our food and managing to find a shopping slot for Sunday has helped me not to worry so much too.
Well the weather isn't as lovely as yesterday but it is still dry. I have a couple of loads of washing to be getting on with and just some general tidying up. I am planning to make my Mother's day cards today as my new dies should be arriving this morning. After that, it will be back to knitting. I just have some wings to knit for the dragon and then I am going to make a couple more bunnies.ย
Sorry to hear of everyone's worries on here. I am definitely in the vulnerable category but my husband and children are not so I can't stop them going out and I wouldn't want to either. It's a real pickle. I am just trying to be careful without going over the top.ย
Happy Birthday Snoozer, hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide to do x
We are going to have chilli con carne and rice for dinner tonight. I even remembered to get the mince out last night so that is a positive. I also unearthed some ancient sausage meat and pastry so I am going to have a go at a sausage and egg plait for lunch.ย
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

The country has gone panic buying crazy! DD texted she was attempting shopping for a few bits and did I want anything - IF available!! I said I was ok for now other than cat litter tray liners but no immediate panic for them.. She;s just texted from Morries and said it's even worse today than it already has been over the last few weeks! No stock of the most bizarre of items. If this carries on I can foresee rationing ahead of us! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11

As from lunch time we are in Purdah.........I have to go out to the post office in the next village to get some cash. Do not like to be without any in the house. Our laddie who cuts the grass will need paying, It will be an envelope under a plant pot in the back garden. I have put off the cleaner. I feel sorry for her as cleaning is her main income, but she cleans for other elderly people, just cannot take the risk.
As far as I know there is no volunteer support in the village, If our Pastor friends are ok, they will shop for us the bits we may need or hopefully I can get an order from Morrison. Its fresh fruit and veg we will need. No loo roll, I always buy a pack of 24 when we are on the last 6 in the old packet, so a full 24 in the boiler cupboard in the bathroom.
Snoozer I hope you have a good day.ย
I hope everyone and their families on here get through the next few weeks ok, take care all of you.
Sausage and mash for supper with the beans left over from last night. Have raspberry trifle if OH wants something sweet.

Morning all.
My goodness, we are living in interesting times.ย I feel so very sorry for folk with health issues.ย It must be very scary.ย Several on this thread are already struggling and my heart goes out to you. Please be just as careful as you can be.
I have quite a good stock of food in but will have to eke it out very carefully if it has to last as long as the gloomier predictions say.ย Hopefully, with all the measures being discussed, we will get through this with minimal damage.
I am fortunate in being pretty hearty, and if I'm honest, having lived this long I feel that if it all suddenly ends I have still been very, very lucky.ย However, my terror is that I could pass it on to someone else, and I couldn't live with that on my conscience,
Back to reality and my disgusting roasting tin.ย I have attacked it with every cleaning substance known to man, or woman in this case, and it remains defiantly disgusting.ย It gets its last chance to cooperate this morning or it is heading binwards.
This afternoon I am due to attend a meeting at church.ย It is called Bright Hour, and if there was ever a misnomer..........
There is usually only about a dozen there, so it falls far short of the 500 the government are warning us about, and it most certainly is not a pub (perish the thought) or a place of entertainment so we may be safe.
Last night I stood on the scales.
Today I am having a mini fast.
Draw your own conclusion.
Happy hand-washing today.ยI believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.14
