Is it OK to drill between a UPVC door unit and window unit?

Hi all,
I currently have a wireless doorbell so no existing door bell wiring in place.
I intend to install a Nest Hello doorbell from scratch, I have tested it all wired up in the living room and works well.
Tomorrow I plan to install the doorbell on the door frame outside.
I have a UPVC porch with a partial brick wall and then door and window frames which looks much like the attached photo.
I could just drill threw the brick wall and run a a wire up the frame to the location of the Nest Hello - but I don't want to expose the wire and also worried about water ingress behind the Nest as it has a solid metal plate so there could be a gap where the wire passes under the mounting plate.
So, I was thinking I could just drill through gap between the window unit and the door unit - which is currently covered with a joining strip as shown in the other pic.
Would I be OK to drill between the unit frame? I know generally it is advised against drilling into UPVC units but this would be between the units....
Any advice please?

Yes you can drill in that area.  Just be careful that you aren't drilling into the glass.  You will be fine if you drill by the point of your green arrow.

A Nest Hello is a video doorbell is it not ??
If you are locating it by the green arrow surely it will be too low ??
Unless Snow White & her friends come to visit !!
  • Google recommend 110cm off the ground mounting. Plus my path is slightly sloped so needs to be a bit low to capture people walking on the path.
  • Thanks for the replies. I found a gap between the door frame and the brick wall - was able to slip the wire through that with a bit of effort. So, no drilling after all. Thanks

Does that mean you have the wiring from the bell exposed on the outside until it get to brickwork level?  If so, anybody with ill intent could cut the cable then come back later.
