Check out Gulf for gas - I've recently switched to them at a great price of 2.37p/kWh.
OMG, you still massively overpaying from them crooks?

We know someone who is paying just 2.115p per kWh don't we?
May not sound much difference, but with your horrendous alleged use, that could be saving you over £100 per year!

Don't delay, sign up to MSE's Cheap Energy Club today. Not  only will you see who to switch to, but also receive alerts as soon as you can save even more!

You've only just joined the forum and yet you already appear to be a clone of the other multiple ids obsessed with my gas consumption - weird.
I am signed up to MSE's Cheap Energy Club. The cheapest gas supplier it's quoting is my supplier Gulf,  but with a more expensive tariff. How do you explain that?

CEC is also the only comparison site I've encountered that doesn't list my electricity tariff,  so I  have to review all its claimed savings manually.  Useless.

Gulf's gas tariffs seem to show yo-yo pricing.  For me FebV2 was lower than FebV1 but MarchV1 is lower than either.

But CEC still shows them as the cheapest supplier,  so I have no idea where the 2.115p/kWh is meant to be coming from. If it's from a dual fuel deal, all CEC's dual fuel deals cost more than I'm paying.

I would say that they are relatively safe to join.... they are owned by Nottingham City Council and suspect that the council would bail them out if needed (they have loaned them cash before). I would say they probably a safer bet than ones without a backer like this but who can tell. Worth checking around just incase though as they seem t supply quite a few other companies or councils on different rates- I used them a year or so ago via RAM Energy, no problems at all and easy to move away for a cheaper company when time was right

You can't get a whole market comparison from the CEC: it's become sadly tarnished because greed has trounced ethics.  Even if you manage to avoid the ambush 'Show me those with OK ratings or better', the CEC will still refuse to show any results from Neon Reef.  Similarly, if you are already with Avro the CEC will refuse to show any Avro results, and presumably will refuse to alert you when Avro launch a cheaper tariff.
It seems you cannot get a whole market comparison from Citizens Advice either!

I've just tried Citizens Advice website and, as mentioned previously, it doesn't work for gas only despite offering that facility.

So the only way to use it is to include electricity which I don't wish to switch, and neither can the Citizens Advice offer me anything cheaper for electricity than I am currently on anyway.

So I was looking at gas. The Citizens Advice site shows numerous iSupply tariffs, but Citizens Advice doesn't seem to allow switching to any supplier or tariff directly though it.

So I went to the iSupply website and it clearly says on it's home page it is not accepting any new customers at this time.

What is not shown at all on the Citizens Advice is Utility Point unless I look a very long way down.
Then it offers 'Up & Save Winter 19', which would cost 3.155p per kWh & 23.21p per day.

Why does it not show 'Just Up 20 Wk11 Direct', as available from the Utilty Point website at 2.4865p per kWh and 14.70p per day???

This is for the Eastern supply region.

    Totally useless!!!

    Energylinx to the rescue!

Maybe the tariff you are currently on is no longer available to new applicants?

Check the exact name of the tariff involved.

I've looked back at a historical spat you were involved in with the same poster last month, and it all seems to be explained there :)

Same poster, they only joined yesterday? Losing track of how many ids appear obsessed with my gas supply. But on this thread, I'm being told I can apparently make £100 savings compared to my Gulf tariff by using CEC - but Gulf is cheapest on CEC? Will await clarification from @greenguppie.

Comparison sites are a minefield, aren't they !  But CA will give you a valid Gas Only result if you first enter electricity details and then search for Gas Only.  I understand that CA use Energy Helpline but that CA default to the wide market view.

The clue is probably in the title.  It's probably a deal that's only available direct from Utility Point or direct through a certain price comparison website.  Blame Ofgem, because they decided to allow this !
I understand that 'Switch with Which?' uses Energylinx so if you'd tried both sites that I mentioned you'd have found this tariff listed there.

Possible £35 cashback on offer for a dual fuel switch going to the source, Energylinx via quidco Or £16 for a single fuel switch.
Not available on that particular tariff from UP as that particular tariff is only available direct from the supplier.

But, that particular tariff may not be the cheapest for everyone, and every little helps!
