Wowcher - What are my rights? Please Help

Hopefully someone can advise me on this issue and help please.
I purchased a new mattress from Nectar via Wowcher last summer costing over £500 and it stated that Nectar would provide a Money back refund if I wasn’t happy with the mattress. I have decided that the mattress isn’t right for me but when I contacted Wowcher to explain to them that I am about to write to Nectar and ask for a “money back refund” , Wowcher customer service told me that I wouldn’t receive a cash refund and that it would be put into my Wowcher wallet which is of no use to me and I feel that I have been misled because nowhere on the Mattress sales page did it state that it would be a Wowcher credit. I have expressed my unhappiness with this decision and said that I feel my rights have been infringed and that I want a refund but I haven’t had a response from them. Please help

    If you purchased from Wowcher, your contract is with them, so if a return is accepted, they are permitted to refund you in the same way you paid, I.e with wowcher credit.
  • Thanks for your responses. Yes I paid through Wowcher so I guess it’s them that I paid. The advert clearly stated on their site that there was a trial period of 365 days. I feel totally misled. They’ve left a nasty taste in my mouth. I would never have purchased it if I’d have thought it would only be given back as wowcher credit. This was a huge selling point on their advertised info of this mattress for me

    Every business that i know will always refund to the voucher you used to pay for the items and never give a cash refund when a voucher is used for the purchase.

    But the OP paid Wowcher (presumably) in "cash" (i.e. credit or debit card) therefore Wowcher should refund to the same method of payment.

    OR ... with Wowcher are you actually buying Wowcher credit which is then immediately being used for the defined purchase?

    They make it quite clear on the site that you are buying a voucher which can be used in the following ways:

    "Your voucher is multipurpose. Prior to the expiry date of the Wowcher, you can choose to redeem your Wowcher either;
    (a) For the deal that is listed in the Wowcher (the headline deal);
    (b) In the Wowcher Shop at www.wowchershop.co.uk;
    (c) For Wowcher Wallet Credit;
    (d) Redeem a voucher towards an alternative deal."

    Thanks - I've never used Wowcher so didn't know for sure how it worked.

    I have never actually used it either, but i would assume the OP must have knew how it worked because they seem to have explained it quite well.

    It’s not the fact that I knew or didn’t know how it worked. When I see a product advertised as a money back trial offer for such a huge sum of money £500+ I expected or at least hoped that , that’s exactly what it meant but silly naive me. We live and learn
