We were in a similar situation, booked a BA holiday to NY ,USA . The USA blocked all visitors on Monday but announced it on Saturday, BA e-mailed me on Saturday and said they would refund me the money, in my account today, not bragging about it only letting others know that this is happening.

Cash refund, in reality, they will refund to the card I paid with. What was also reassuring for anyone who took up their voucher option, the refund actually supersedes this. This must be costing them dearly, therefore, it can't be long until the Govt announce the next set of specific measures to help BA and other airlines in this crisis.
How did you manage that?  Saturdays flight to Tenerife is not cancelled.  FCO Advise against all but essential travel.  Spain has declared a state of emergency.  BA will refund all my Avios, but levy an administration charge.  Won’t refund me for the cost of choosing my seats.  I don’t want a voucher because who knows what the future holds.

BA just did this which was great, however, I have another flight booked for August to visit Edinburgh, although have only paid the deposit, therefore, will be interesting to see what happens here as the primary reason for us going was to see the Edinburgh Military Tattoo which has now been cancelled
  • I have a booking for a weekend in Paris in July.  BA have emailed as they have cancelled the inbound (the PAR to LON) flight, but not the outbound LON to PAR !!  Can I get a refund on the whole ticket because of this ?

Did you book it as a return ticket, in which case yes, or as 2 single tickets?

    morning,
id like to clarify my position please before contacting the airline.
flights and car hire booked with BA directly over the phone.
uk internal flight to heathrow, then gatwick to usa - and same on return.
out 1st leg, the internal uk flight has just been cancelled.
am i entitled to a refund for the whole booking?
BA emailed to notify me of the cancellation yesterday,  said they will be intouch to make alternative arrangements.

second thing, my parents have booked to fly a few days after us on the same basis.
their internal uk flight was cancelled and then rebooked at a later time same day, under 12hrs difference. however , this means they can no longer catch the connection for the usa flight, as it departs before they even take off their first flight.
are they entitled to a refund?
    Many thanks

If all on one booking and they cancel a leg,  then everything can be cancelled, including car hire.
With your parents,  are the flight numbers different on old and new flight?

New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.
