BA Flight Cancellation Advice?

Have a BA flight and hotel booked in Amsterdam end of the month which by the looks of means if I cancel, I won't get a refund. Given the Coronavirus meltdown at the moment and countries banning other countries from flying to them eg South American countries the latest to announce this today, should I wait until BA maybe forced to cancel if Netherlands closes airspace?

yes just wait it out. Worst case (for you) is nothing changes, flights are still operating and no FCO guidance meaning you are in the same position as you are today0

That’s up to you.
You might wish to read through the MSE article (linked right) or the two main threads on this matter. Lots of questions and answers on those.0 -
Let it play out and take the risk it won't be cancelled. Is BA offering free amendments?
I have a similar situation but with Easyjet travelling from 1 April.
My hotel terms were non refundable (booking.com) and arranged separately from flights. I explained to the greek hotelier that I needed to cancel as I am in a higher risk group for coronavirus. Under extenuating circumstances I received a full refund.
Easyjet has just issued a statement that all flights are now amendable foc.
If I cancel I will lose the full sum. If I amend flight dates I would need to pay the difference and be able to guess when was safe to travel.0 -
BA amended policy yesterday evening - you can now postpone flights departing before end of May and get a voucher for their full value to use within 1 year, which I think is fair.My only concern is what would happen if they went bust over this - would the voucher then be claimable on insurance? Or credit card chargeback?0

Thanks for BA update on their cancellation policy

I don't think the Govt would allow them to go bust

Update, BA have confirmed they will refund.

Was the refund as a voucher or cash? We're in a similar situation, and don't really want a voucher as we don't know when this will all blow over...0

Cash refund, in reality, they will refund to the card I paid with. What was also reassuring for anyone who took up their voucher option, the refund actually supersedes this. This must be costing them dearly, therefore, it can't be long until the Govt announce the next set of specific measures to help BA and other airlines in this crisis.
