You definitely did the right thing to call off... I have a family wedding to go to next weekend, and am really hoping it gets postponed - it's not looking like it will though, puts me in an awkward position... many people still think measures to distance are over-reactions, and that until our 'government' say so, things should go ahead as normal... well, my partner has had cancer, and with it part of a lung removed - if he catches it, I don't fancy his chances.  I think quite a lot of your guests will be relieved that you've taken the decision away from them.
    Sorry for you though  <3
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

I haven't had time to post anything since my Dad fell ill a few weeks ago, much of my time is taken up back and fourth to the hospital and caring for my Mum. comping is not my priority at the moment but I still manage to enter a few which has been a good distraction and way to wind down.
Keep safe everyone and comp on.

And at wedding, there's so much hugging and kissing of distant relatives and friends...

At the moment (although it could always change) it's business as usual for RM. We're trying out contactless delivery though. The posties in our office are also using latex gloves. Can't comment on couriers though, and if you have "special arrangements" with your own postie, they'll probably not change.

In order to protect both our people and customers as much as possible, we will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures. Postmen and women will instead log the name of the person accepting the item. This will apply to all deliveries that require a signature.

Additionally, for all customers (including those who are self-isolating) where we need to deliver any parcel that won’t fit through your letterbox, we will place your item at your door. Having knocked on your door, we will then step aside to a safe distance while you retrieve your item. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside.

If you are unable to come to the door at all we will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways you can arrange to get your item. For example, by getting a friend or family member to collect the parcel from our local Customer Service Point on your behalf. In this situation, and to keep your mail as secure as possible, they will need to bring along the card we left you and a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to.

I'm self isolating due to severe respiratory disease. I'm thinking of making up a poster for the window to let delivery personnel know. Then I can gurn at them out of the window to let them know that I have seen them, so that they can scarper before I open the door.  :)

Well this certainly puts the problems with the forum into perspective. Sending a virtual elbow bump to everyone that is suffering in whatever way due to this.

I've not been on here for a few days, both my dad and nan are self isolating due to underlying illnesses and I'm on stand by for helping them as and when they need it. Also my kids are off school now so there gonna need to be entertained. Can't see me being back to comping for a good few months but my family come first.
    Stay safe everyone ❤
