So does it appear that COVID 19 is having an impact on competitions being advertised and posted on here? What are we going to do when we all have to self isolat!

I had noticed less competitions and assumed many are distracted and if like me even anxious. Other things on your mind takes it off searching and posting comps1

I agree with _shel. I think people have other things to think about rather than comping....jobs, family, elderly relatives, the already poorly, their own health, childcare, money, what will happen next?..etc etc Worrying times!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea1

That, and the shabby state of this forum with no end in sightWorse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."7

I wonder if some comps are not worth posting - especially any for travel in the next three months.
We have already had comps withdrawn/cancelled by promoters
- Tickets for sporting/music events - but the event has been cancelled.
- Comps relating to film releases, but the film release has been postponed. Planet Radio often has comps for prizes worth £1000-£200 when a new film is releasedA Quiet Place Part II has had its UK release delayed due to coronavirus concerns. The eagerly anticipated horror sequel, starring Emily Blunt, was due to be released next Thursday (19 March), but director John Krasinski has confirmed it will no longer go ahead.

I've just gone through my emails and pulled a couple from there, as the board had nothing new for me this morning!
Hoping they are not dupes though as not sure if the search is working yet, nothing came up for them.Wins in 2023 - 35

Oh, and as far as I know, the search function was fixed.'...luck came to those who left a space for it.' Terry Pratchett3 -
I am not entering ticket or holiday comps at the moment, Sorry to say this is going to get worse before it gets better. Stay safe every one,

I expect there will be a lot less competitions in general in the coming weeks or months. If business need to consider what is essential to keep their business running and what is simply a 'nice to have', hosting competitions would quite rightly be bottom of their list of priorities.
Take care everyone.3 -
When events etc are cancelled now the conditions are unlikely to be any better later this year, so most events would be voided and possibly take place at the same time next year when ticket giveaways etc to help promote them might have some value to the promoters - there is no value to be had promoting events, holidays that cannot take place if there are no actual buyers to be tempted..
Marketing campaigns take a little while to switch off but no one would actually be planning to promote postponed/.cancelled events for the foreseeable future4 -
I just postponed my wedding in two weeks so am feeling loads deflated.1
