    Hmmm

Pleased  I put the photo on now. Tw@ts. 😆.

Thanks for reply....just hating that garage more post by post .
You live and learn, I guess this is my first learning re: cars.
Ruddy Fiat are gonna think I am a moron now if they ask for a picture. They have emailed my issue is in progress and given me a case number ( think as they do get complaints about them).
I am going to email them back and say I have car booked in elsewhere and will inform them of the outcome.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Nothing wrong with questioning something you think is wrong

We are only giving opinion more as car owners than experts.  See what they say. What's the worst that can happen?

We are just trying to reassure you that there is nothing dangerous or out of order ( in our opinions)

I think this is the root cause of your problem.

They were going to charge £300 to do ( which is an obvious rip off)

That's pretty much about right for 4 x pads and discs, I paid £200 or so just for the two front ones on my Elgrand.
You're going to need new ones every 20-30k depending on driving style and driving profile, ie motorway miles don't use brakes as much as around town generally speaking.

really looks to me like lack of use taking its toll

winter can be very hard on brakes and the salt and all the water on the roads will cause the discs to rust at an alarming rate
but as the weather warms up and hopefully the rain stops the discs wont deteriorate as fast and a bit of use will bring the braking surfaces back to what they should look like. l would not be rushing out to change those discs l would be taking the car out for a good run and doing a bit of heavy braking like you would in an emergency stop

also if the car is going to be siting around a lot and not getting used look at getting a rust inhibitor spray to spray on the discs something like bilt hamber atom mac. dilute 5% product in 95% water and spray on surfaces to be protected. Atomise onto brake discs and surfaces and allow to dry

Have popped into the garage I have used for the last number of years as was passing.

He had a quick look only as it’s booked in to get done anyway, but his opinion is, that the pads aren’t hitting it properly ( which is what friend had said was original problem). When in Richard hardies they said they are connecting fine ( I don’t believe them ).

He agrees having looked at last service report that they knew of this problem , the problem is there despite them saying the connection was fine last week, , and that they should have fixed it prior to selling on.

To be honest, it’s kinda immaterial now, I don’t trust them at all and would never use them to put it right anyway now.  I will just get it fixed with my usual fellas whatever fiat comes back saying . At least I know I was right about it all and that they are lying.

Re pricing, my fella was going to charge £140 I think to do the job ( it’s only the back ones).
