Lux ac battery controller

philologus said:Well, that was fun!I turned off and disconnected all four batteries and took them out of the case (I'd forgotten just how heavy they are - hernia job!) and took every lead off and checked them for continuity , resistance, wear, any evidence of shorting, and there were no problems that I could see.I checked each battery individually and they were all OK.I put it all back together and turned the inverter on. It asked which batteries were being used so I told it that they were Pylons and waited five minutes before switching the batteries back on.Nothing has changed from what things were before I started.I tried a forced battery charge for half an hour but nothing happened.I keep wondering if everything is working OK and it's my fault for not having the settings right.Batteries are at 14%.The company I bought the system from is the "sister" company of the one I'm using to look into wind power and their boss has promised me that they will sort it out for me. I'll be getting a visit tomorrow morning to get things started - apparently.I'm not holding my breath!

One thing you might want to try is go onto the Lux power app or the website and reset the Luxpower unit to default (this is the user setting only, it won't affect anything the installer did). I was given what seemed to be a used unit first which had a charge profile on it. I discovered it sucking in a huge amount of power the first day of install at 9pm. I reset the values to factory and it never did it again.

Good point Amos.I've looked at the settings and wondered should 'Power backup' be enabled or disabled?It says, 'Enable this mode, EPS output will be uninterruptible.'0

If you haven't got anything hanging off the EPS then you don't need it enabled. Have you got a socket or anything wired to the EPS output (look underneath the controller at the EPS output), if so you need it enabled.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025. Nothing running off EPS so I've disabled that.Next one is 'A/C charge' - enable or disable? What is it refering to?When I enable this I can usually set a time and charge the battery from the grid but it's not doing this at present.When the sun is shining (it does -occasionally) excess power is not going to the battery, it's going to the grid.0

This is basically a force charge of the batteries if it's enabled and a time period selected. I have cheap rate between 00:00 to 05:00 and want batteries to be fully charged by 05:00 especially in winter. So my settings are enabled and 01:45 to 05:00 as the first time period. My batteries start charging at 01:45 until fully charged and remain at fully charged until 05:00 when used with charge priority. I have this enabled with a time period 00:00 to 05:00, which means that my batteries stop discharging at 00:00 and are put back into use at 05:00.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025. It sounds very much to me like your problem is mains power to the inverter.
I wonder if the cylindrical power connector is
A. Screwed in with upper ring or just pushed in.
B. Has each terminal tightened properly.
I dont see the issue being the batteries if they have been fine for this long, and they are secured with heavy screw through terminal screws, though it is worth pulling down the waterproof covers and making sure the screws are tight.
But it sounds like you have a 240V supply issue.

HI All
Probably a simple question really - does the LXP3600 hybrid inverter have any form of time correction / synchronisation using the WiFi dongle connection or if it doesn't how accurate have people found the inverter time to be, does it drift, or once set does it stay fairly accurate over time?
I'm just wondering how accurate the time is for things like 'time of use tariffs' and more importantly how well (or not) does it handle the BST changes - as my inverter seems to have been installed with the timezone configured (or may be not at all) as: -
Timezone = GMT 0
Daylight Saving Time = no
That should be the right configuraion for the present, but still interested in how accurate others have found the clock to be - it seems a shame (to me anyway) if it doesn't make use of NTP type functionality, as the inverter is online after all?

Question. What is the chance of the Grid Clamp failing so that on my Luxpowertex AC3.6 hybrid there is no Grid pull or import showing ? I am only seeing what is produced from Solar and then that is matched identicallly by the Home consumption (which is obviously wrong). It is as if my clamps are not showing proper reporting of usage, import, export etc I have asked my Installers to look at it and they have been about as helpful as an ashtray on a motorbike, Blaming my batteries Pylontech, because their was an comms error when I did a full reset but even if I remove the batteries I still get the same issue with the inverter not showing proper grid and home consumption. I have since resolved the Battery fault so its all normal but its not pulling from the batteries at any time so it did charge them to 100% (even when i set it to only do 95%) and then the batteries are not used at any other time. It’s like i just have the benefit of solar during the day but have no idea of the numbers for import from grid. Ive went back to Luxpowertek direct to ask them to check and maybe do a OTA firmware upgrade and a full reset to see if that resolves the issues. But as i mention is it likely that my clamps are not working ? They dont look like they are things that would go wrong that often ?——-
