How do I return to a post I've quoted?

Options
I quote a post, and want to go back to it, so I can continue reading the thread, from that point, so what do I click, to return to the quoted post?

I am clicking on the bookmark button for any thread/discussion that I make a comment on.    I then get a notification if anyone else contributes to the thread.  I then find it easier to come back to that thread (by simply clicking on the notification).  Not exactly what you wanted, but it is about the best solution that I have found :)

You're right, that's not what I'm looking for.

What I'm looking for, is some way to move back up a thread I'm posting in, to the post I've just quoted.

On the old forum, there was a >> symbol at the top of the quoted post, and clicking it would take you straight back to that post, but the >> doesn't seem to be here anymore.

Oh yeah.  Now I know what you mean!  Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to replicate that functionality on the new forum.  That was actually a really useful function on the old forum... :|

Came into here to find the same - I used the old "Green" forum style and any thread posted in had a black dot.

Now there is no way to come in and see threads you have posted in without doing a silly bookmark, which I don't really want to do. Must say, it has put me off using the forum as I can't see "at a glance" what I have posted in. A really, really, REALLY basic part of forums for the last 20 years which has seemingly been omitted from this update. All my thanks disappeared too it seems?

It's not ideal but one way to do it (on a PC) is by preparing in advance.
Taking the 3rd post in this thread as an example.

    1) CTRL+CLICK on the time stamp of the post you are going to quote 12 March at 4:17PM

(opens a new tab positioned at the relevant post)
    2) Click on "Quote", type your reply, and submit.
    3) If you now want to return to the thread at the post you quoted, switch to the new tab
(and refresh so that your new post is included)

  • And what a palava that is, One-Eye.

    UPDATE: I clearly have missed something...ignore me  :D  o:)

Maybe I'm missing something but could you not use this page (but for your username) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/comments/TheITBod?

There's a little bit of scrolling to do but when you get to the 'Replies' heading, there's a list of everything you've posted in...and if you've quoted someone it has a little {Quote} thingie...

Or, again, using your own username in the search you might be able to find things a bit quicker if the above doesn't quite cut the proverbial mustard? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search?adv=1&author=TheITBod

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/comments/Bedsit_Bob and  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search?adv=1&author=Bedsit_Bob only lists the post I've made, not the ones I've quoted.
