Barclaycard apology letter - set my credit limit too high

Hi all,
I received a letter from Barclaycard.
It says they set my credit limit too high by mistake when I opened my account (in 2012), and apologised. The letter said to contact them if I had experienced financial hardship as a result of the error, but added they felt the limit is correct at the moment.
I contacted them to discuss. The lady asked me if I had experienced any hardship. I said hypothetically I had, because the card is maxed, and in theory I wouldn't have been able to spend the money/pay the interest if the limit wasn't as it was. I also said I had contacted Barclaycard a few weeks ago and asked for an interest rate reduction because I was struggling (this wasn't approved).
The lady put me on hold, came back, and offered me £25.
I know this is a situation of my own making, and I chose to spend the money. I am meeting my payment obligations. Just curious if anyone else has experienced similar.

I had the same letter come through today for a credit card that I paid in full and closed down in September 2019 (with the help of a consolidation loan through my partner). Have been offered a £50 apology figure and advised they will put a complaint in to finalise it. She did ask if it put me in financial difficulty too.0

All apart of new FCA regulations on affordable borrowing and persistant debt, expect more to come.

Will taking the £25 mean that the credit limit is reduced as soon as the balance owing reduces?0

I got £20 for another matter from them and I didn't even complain, I was just asking when I'd receive my new card as it seemed to take a tad long so £25 seems fairly paltry!0
