It's very tempting sometimes, and I expect I may still occasionally open new ones in the future but only if there is a significant advantage vs the best rates available via HL.
I put in £20k for 1 year this morning at 1.5%. Ford Money would have generated £310 in interest vs £300 via HL. I didn't consider that difference was enough to be worth the additional initial effort and future admin - especially if my wife or executors end up dealing with my affairs.

I have to agree how easy it is to use HL Active Savings. Unlike most, I have my wife's savings with them and I've put monies in myself too. With her SIPP also with HL, I do hope they don't go kaput. It sure does make life easy not having to furnish ID's or fill in paperwork. It has been my savings medium of choice since they started it.0

I've just opened a Virgin Money Regular eSaver issue 14, 2% fixed.2

As far as Active Savings is concerned, HL going kaput should not be a concern as the FSCS £85k protection applies in respect of the institution(s) the money is placed with.caveman38 said:I have to agree how easy it is to use HL Active Savings. I bagged 1.55% with Ford Money on a 1yr fix. It's still available to open at this time and once open you can pay in as much as you like (up to £85k limit I believe) up to 14 days from opening.0

I opened a Ford 1 & a 2 year yesterday on the off chance that my F1rstsave app won't be processed.typistretired said:Ford Money have pulled their fixed rate savers luckily I applied for one on Wednesday which opened today so will be topping up over next 14 days
Now I need to sit down in a darkened room with spreadsheet to consider what to do for the best with all the recent changes... and possible opportunities.

My FirstSave application was processed fine within a couple of days. You may have seen my other post as I'm wondering why FirstSave don't appear on best buy tables as at 1.7% way out in front!! Wondering if I am missing something??soulsaver said:
