Made the fully automated call today - strange that they didn`t ask for any security information. Decided on the £500 per month debit card payment option. Will fund our x-o Isa`s for the first few months using the debit card. There was no mention of choosing a start date so why was that mentioned in their information. We will cancel the monthly £750 in/out standing orders and the PO DD`s at the end of May and set up the new monthly £1500 in/out standing orders in June.
What do you make of the following statement?
*If you have met the conditions for your chosen Offer, the payment will be made into your account or you will receive the lifestyle benefit during the following month.

Well, what do you make of it?

I make of it that if you meet the conditions for the selected offer in one month, you receive the benefit of that in the following calendar month.

Next step - " We will contact you before the end of the Offer period, either by writing to you or, if you have agreed, by sending you an email or text message, to tell you what will happen next". End of offer period being 15th May - I presume.

"The Offer starts on the day you select it and lasts for a minimum of 12 full months. For example, if you select the Offer on 10th November 2020, it will end on 30th November 2021. If you spend £500 on your debit card from 10th - 30th November 2020, you will receive the Offer for that month". Rather confusing information given that we are moving from Reward Current Account to Reward Extras Current Account on June 1st.

It was a question for where_are_we, which is why s/he's quoted... :)

    Just called to activate mine.
I didn't realise I would have to choose between maintaining a daily balance of £5k and spending £500 on Debit Card, and the selection would be fixed for a year. I thought it was only the reward option I had to choose up-front, and I could qualify using either method each month.

Yes you have to read the paperwork very carefully. Plus, it may be time consuming but I've discovered that by reading all the various posts in the thread there is some valuable information to be found (discounting 1 or 2 comments that should have been thought about before they were posted)

That`s why I was asking lots of questions before phoning so that I had a plan of action! Simple this isn`t, though you could have terminated the call - the lady at the other end wouldn`t have been upset!

I have a few accounts.  Most are linked to a Post Office online saver .
    1) When I ring the automated Halifax system to upgrade, presumably I will be able to do this a number of  times and upgrade each one separately, without arousing suspicion and closure of the accounts?
    2) The PO online saver requires a linked bank account for withdrawals, but it allows deposits by many methods inc debit card. Does anyone know if the debit card used for further deposits HAS to be from the same, linked bank account? If the answer is "no", that would make achieving the various transactions considerably easier

Many thanks to anyone who knows

Well . Seems I've got the answers myself...
    1) The automated line takes details for one account. Although at the end it asks if I'd like to change any other accounts, I figure it would be best to do this singly, over several days to minimise any chance of closures.
    2) I sent a payment to one of my PO accounts using a debit card which was not the one for my linked account. It went through with no problems , it seems.

Hopefully this post may help anyone in a similar situation

How much did you try the DC payment to PO for? It works for a few quid for me, but 'experiences technical difficulties' with £500 with the same card that worked for the small £££s.

I plan to use YBS, but just in case I have to resort to PO Savings are you making the larger payment straight after the smaller one or, say, a few days later?
