Full refund not given on a cancelled flight

Hi,
One of my flight on a multiple flight trip got cancelled and I requested a full refund of trip which I believe I'm entitled to.

Travelup has came back with a refund minus charge of £50 admin fee and 2% card processing fee.  Is that normal practice?  Should I get a full refund without any charges?

I expect if you dig out and read the confirmation paperwork then you will see a list of their fees.  Not uncommon charges and fees from online ticket sellers.  Just as the flight cancelled was not your fault, neither is it TravelUp’s.  You however appointed them as your agent and they have done work for you in booking, then cancelling and applying for the refund. All this costs them in time, resources and merchant fees - they are charging for the work done. Fair enough isn’t it?   Of course you can in future avoid these charges if you pay a little more and book directly with the airline.

I am not sure there should be a 2% card processing fee though, they were outlawed a couple of years ago!

That was for taking cards - this sounds like a fee on the refund? Not sure if that's covered by the new legislation
