Amazon FBA for Beginners - All Advice Greatly Received!

Hi,
I’m new to Amazon FBA and have spent the last 3 weeks looking into the prospect of selling on Amazon as a Third Party via their FBA service.
I’m aware of the fees/charges involved and have done some research in the 3 weeks looking at a series of online videos from the likes of JT Franco, Just One Dime plus Sophie Howard.
I have downloaded and read Sophie Howard's Jetstream income book also and I’m enlisted for one of her Webminar’s today.
The reason for this post is to seek guidance from anyone who is using the service.
I’m (completely) overwhelmed by what is needed. Although I understand the principles it’s hard knowing where to start.
Again I have started to look at software to assist (e.g Helium 10, Jungle Scout) but is this really recommended. I know that Sophie Howard suggests you shouldn’t rely purely on such for researching products etc.
What I am looking for is a basic ‘Model-Plan’ to list out and take you through the stages of what you should be looking for, researching and how to do it etc. Does this exist out there?
I’m also looking for Forums where similar minded people can be approached to determine the do’s & don’ts plus to determine if such groups know of hot products soon to approach the market etc.
Any advice & guidance greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The model plan or business plan is going to be fairly personal to you. Not much point in
following someones guides if your skills are in a different area.
Do you know the product your planning on selling? Have you factored in a fair % for returns that
cannot be resold but where your fees still apply?

I may be being thick but I don't understand what you're asking. Advice from sellers about what?
I've been selling on Amazon and using FBA for about ten years. I've never watched a video and don't use third party software for any reason. You could possibly use some price adjusting software but you can mostly do that on Amazon now.
Find what you want to sell, source it, check that you can earn a profit, then sell it.
I've never got these who claim to be earning fortunes selling on Amazon yet spend all their time telling other people how to do it.
Anyone who finds a "hot product" won't share it with you. If they do it's either not that hot and/or they're selling it.

I echo RFWs post, I am not familiar with Amazon FBA, when I used to sell on Amazon I sold direct and held my stock myself. I don’t know what exactly the point of some of these get rich quick videos are?My concern, and perhaps I am just misreading the OP , is that OP doesn’t appear to have their product line yet and I would have thought that was the important part. OP, understanding how selling works and how to send your goods in is all very well, but have you got a product line, can you compete with existing sellers and have you worked out your bottom line figures based on projected sales, returns , losses etc?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
