Hi @E.ON_Company_Representative:_Malc
As you know i'm in process of switching to E.on.  Today i had a email saying they need me to submit a meter reading BUT the link in the email doesn't allow me to submit a reading, i enter in account number, post code, email, next page I select Elec and then nothing.

IF i login, it has a tick next to meter reading implying you had a meter reading but doesn't say what the meter reading is or when they got it as I've not submitted a reading yet - no box appears when i tried the link in email for me to submit a reading.
How should I proceed? Should I call e.on up?
Thanks
Kev

  • Hi  @E.ON_Company_Representative:_Malc
as a new EON customer since end of Jan this year. Can you confirm if the EON See feature on your website/Mobile App works before the first bill is issued please.
I thought it would work immediately in real time but have been advised it does not work until this 1st bill is issued.

    Kind Regards
    SJL

Hello stevejland and many thanks for joining us.
I can confirm, for new customers, the first bill does need to be issued before the E.ON See tool can be used.
After this, it's best to enter readings in the first week of every month and request a bill. E.ON See will take around two weeks to pull the information from the bill to the online graphs.
Hope this explains stevejland. Please let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.

Interesting. My own method is to provide a reading two weeks before the mandatory billing date (which automatically will produce a bill), then once a month after that on the same number of the month (without requesting a bill). E.on See seems accurate from this method.

Hello oliverbrown  and it's good this is working for you.
As a general rule, the more readings we have, the greater the accuracy the information about your energy usage will be.
Many thanks for letting us have readings so regularly.

Hello Steve and you're right. Smart meters send us readings automatically.
Unless you tell us differently, we'll collect readings from your smart meter once a month. This is one reading (or set of readings for multi-rate meters) taken on a set date each month. We can also take readings more often (daily or half-hourly). We need your permission to do this and, if you wish, you can increase the frequency we take readings through your online account.
As I mentioned to oliverbrown above, as a general rule, the more readings we have, the greater the accuracy the information about your energy usage will be. As well as increasing the accuracy of E.ON See, there are also benefits for billing, payment arrangements and energy efficiency advice. Specifically, no more estimated bills, payment arrangements that reflect actual usage and tailored advice to help you save money by saving energy.
    Hope this helps Steve.

Many Thanks again Malc for your assistance.
I would like to allow meter reads to be taken half hourly, but can't see where to change this on the Myaccount tab of the website.
    Cheers
    Steve
