Can i ask, if i start an account in the UK before travelling to America, are there any issues i might need to be aware of while travelling there and using their cars?

Your Uber account will work in the USA just as it works here.
One thing to be aware of is that depending on what card you have registered, your bank may charge foreign transaction fees etc. You could mitigate this by using a card that has no foreign spending fees like Halifax Clarity or Starling Bank.
You could try Lyft. Just like Uber, and you'd be able to get free credit for signing up. Handy to have a second option in case Uber is very busy - my friends in the US prefer Lyft - I think they have better corporate responsibility.0 -
I tend to use PayPal as my method of payment in the USA for Uber. Saves linking a bank card and I’ve never noticed it be a poor exchange rate.0

We use Lyft and pay by PayPal......Great service and up till now, never had a problem.
