Considering suspending monthly payment into S&S ISA due to Covid-19

Options
With the stock market tumbling at the moment would it be sensible to suspend my monthly payment until the crisis is over & market picks up again? Or should I just ride out the turbulence ?

You're really asking whether anyone knows if things will continue to go down, or whether a low point has been reached, and of course, no-one can answer that. Lots of people suggest that this is a good time to be buying S&S-based stuff, while values are low. If you suspend the payments, how will you decide when to re-start them?

If you're drip-feeding regularly then continuing to do so would appear the obvious route, so that you're getting better value for your money while prices are lower than they have been....

This is great news for people paying in regularly.  Why would you want to stop buying units cheaper and wait until they have gone back up in price again before buying them?

I don't know why you feel a relatively normal sized crash should change anything?   It has been coming for a while and they are always coming.  So, its not like its an event that should surprise you.
