Most important thing, what is on your involve/receipt?0

Might be worth asking to see the job card, if you asked for X tyre but got Z then they need to fit X. Did they could not fit X they should of checked before the work.0

So you need to prove that you didn't get what you explicitly requested. But you can't, because it's your word against theirs with nothing in writing.

Customers are "always" right, no one can prove anything however it's not exactly a court case. At the end of the day, they're the company who provides for millions, they should at-least provide "good will" gestures.
The manager has responded, and is looking into it and I asked for a full refund and for them to fit my tyres (that i will order) free of charge and he said that will be fine upon his decision.0 -
Was the arrangement done over the phone? They might have recorded the call, normally they get you to sign a works order, did you do that? If so, what's on it?0

Not currently. But if they refuse to acquiesce to your request, then you are going to want to consider whether to shrug and walk away, vowing never to darken their door again - or whether to take it further. And that "further" would be a small claim. At the end of the day, they're the company who provides for millions, they should at-least provide "good will" gestures.
They may well do. If they think the cost of doing so is worth the gain in future revenue. The manager has responded, and is looking into it and I asked for a full refund and for them to fit my tyres (that i will order) free of charge and he said that will be fine upon his decision.
That's not reasonable. Be prepared to compromise. If they had told you they could not supply, but were happy to fit your own-supplied tyres, you would have been charged for fitting - probably £20/corner. You are asking for £80 of freebie on top of a refund for £260 of non-resellable now-part-worn tyres. There is nothing in writing to say that this is their error. They may well say that you requested Michelins, and you got Michelins.0
