Help with legal rights with tyres fitted

Options
Hey all,

I got my car back from servicing on Thursday and last night I checked my tyres as I got the front 2 replaced.. I didn't have the car for 3 weeks because they had to order a part for the head gasket that had gone (8 month old car!!!)
I was shocked that I asked for "Michelin pilot sports" 3 weeks ago when I took my car in for servicing and I checked last night and they were "primacy 3" which is ridiculous. I got these changed at my local Ford dealership so I "trusted" them.

We agreed it would be £230 when I took it in yet I got charged £259.99 after they said that was the deal.. Considering the primacy 3s are £60-90 a tyre and the pilot sports are £120+ I feel extremely disappointed.

The manager of TC Harrison Ford replied

"I have checked with X this morning both the offer she made and what product was offered. We cannot offer Michelin Pilot tyres as our Ford supplier does not stock this model. I have also attached the stock report from our suppliers and you can also clearly see the cost of the tyres to us, and the RRP price.

The cost of the tyres we offered and fitted were £111.90 pre VAT. = £134.28 including VAT. This is £4.28 more than what you paid,  there is no way we could have offered the Pilot tyres or indeed the ones fitted for a mere £60 each.

X is out of the business at present and returns tomorrow. Once she is back I will discuss with both her and X the conversation and either X of myself will be back in touch."

The Michelin Pilot sport tyres came as standard on the mk8 Fiesta ST's and it was agreed that these would be fitted and I was not informed the stock tyres are not provided with their supplier, knowing this I would've ordered them myself. What I do not understand is how they cannot supply/order a stock tyre for a car that they sell?

Can anyone give me advice on where I stand on consumer rights and what I can do? I have requested I want the tyres fully refunded so that I can order the pilot sport tyres myself and them to fit it free of charge. Am I in the right to get a full refund as it's only been less than a week since I've had them etc...?

All advice is appreciated,

Thanks.
