The claim is for a total of £267.97.

No doubt over half of this is unlawful, read this

and make a formal complaint about this low rent law firm to the SRA, it is time they were struck off.

Submitted my defence this morning and has been received on MCOL so I'll now follow the steps for the rest!!

What are the chances that this will make it into a court room? Is it common for them to go right up until the court date and then cancel the claim just before! I've also heard they will say they are going to the hearing and just not turn up!!

My local court is Southampton, do you think that appendix C from Southampton will give me any kind of moral high-ground (kind of)?

Also I'm assuming that your local court is decided in the DQ forms?

    Thanks again!

Yes and yes.  You could not hope for a better court area and might just see the claim struck out.

Here's a typical court report - a Worthing Judge who was clutching DJ Grand from Southampton's transcript!

    **UPDATE**
So I've received a letter from HMCTS reading:

"I acknowledge receipt of your defence. A copy is being served on the claimant (or the claimant's solicitor), The claimant may contact you direct to attempt to resolve any dispute. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, the claimant will inform the court that he wishes to proceed. The court will then inform you of what will happen.

Where he wishes to proceed, the claimant must contact the court within 28 days after receiving a copy of your defence. After that period has elapsed, the claim will be stayed. The only action the claimant can the take will be to apply to a judge for an order lifting the stay."

I'm assuming they will contact me with a settlement fee? Is it worth taking?

If they don't contact the court the claim will be stayed, does this mean that it will paused?

I guess I'll be waiting 28 days to receive a letter of proceedings and DQ forms!

    Thanks,
    O.G

    No need to guess.

Taking?  I doubt that they will offer you money.  As this is being heard at Southampton I predict that they will crash and burn.  Have you complained to the SRA?

Sorry I meant taking as if they will offer me a lower fee to pay off, maybe the original payment lol!
Haven't complained as of yet... I will get on that today!
