Just started looking at Android TV boxes so still lacking basic knowledge of the subject at the moment. Question is do any of these come with a DVD player built-in as I need to get a DVD player as well and just wondered if I can get something which does both?
Thanks,

Dont know of any that have DVD recorders and cant fathom why you would want one.
Streaming movies are always there and dont even consider downloading them, your ISP may block you.
Get a 4k firestick.1 -
Never seen one with a DVD either .Android box is just a media player and has no content itself .1

DVD Player not DVD Recorder.mobileron said:Dont know of any that have DVD recorders and cant fathom why you would want one.

How would your ISP know whether you were downloading a movie or watching it?

Where do I start looking to find the best Android TV box? Not worried about the wifi quality as will be using a wired connection. Is there anything particular I should look out for or any to avoid.

Question is what do you want to do with the box ??

Thanks difficult to answer as I don't yet know what they can do. Obviously they take an internet connection, my case wired, and allow TV to be streamed to a connected TV. What else can they do, can they record TV or is there not much point as the stream can just be watched again, maybe there is a reason if you wanted to say download a film when the internet is less congested and watch it at a later date.JJ_Egan said:Question is what do you want to do with the box ??

Record some can but may depend upon source .Ordinary web browser can download a film no need for a box .A TV can stream Iplayer ITV Hub etc .Android box is often used to source illegal streaming / IPTV a subject that is not discussed on here .1

As someone that has had Android boxes for many years and still work well,i recently got a 4k firestick,i can only compare with a 2 year old box,and the stick wins for me.
Forget the idea of recording, you may then get blocked by your isp, movies are always there waiting for you. Wait till amazon do a deal on the stick mine cost £25.00,easy to set up if you spend a little time on youtube.1 -
Can a Firestick be used with a wired connection as opposed to wireless?mobileron said:As someone that has had Android boxes for many years and still work well,i recently got a 4k firestick,i can only compare with a 2 year old box,and the stick wins for me.

I have heard that comment before about not recording but I can't understand how an ISP would know whether you were watching or recording a stream.
