Temporary Internet?

I will be cancelling my Virgin Media broadband as soon as I can, if I can, when the price goes up, my contract runs until the 6th August.
I am in the process of getting a landline but of course if I can't cancel my Virgin broadband until Aug I won't get a line until then but if I can cancel it immediately I might be without broadband until I get a line installed.
I normally watch a lot of catch-up TV through my Sky box or using my computer and I have an Alexa echo that I use for free phone calls as well as a couple of tablets that also need internet and a Kindle as well, so what is a good temporary solution until I get the phone line installed?

I think you will find that VM's price increases were last October so as you were on a contract your price remained the same so it looks like you can only leave penalty free in August. VM require 30 days notice so you will need to check with them whether you can give notice 30 days before the 6th of August or you have to wait until the 6th and pay for another 30 days at the full rate. But once you give notice you can find another deal elsewhere and hopefully it wont take 30 days for this to be ready and you wont need a temp internet service but if the timing is not exact as VM use their own lines you may need to start paying for the new service before the VM one ends.
You can also expect to pay for re-connection to the OpenReach line and if you use a home phone you need to request that VM port it.
You need to remember because you will be transferring to a different line its up to you to give notice to VM unlike if you were switching from one company to another that both uses the same OpenReach line.0
