    The Business Energy site allows you to enter the calorific value (shown on your bills) which can affect the accuracy of the conversion.

    If you want to be really precise, you can find the actual measured CV for your region directly from National Grid, and confirm the suppliers are calculating that correctly too.
    In reality it's unlikely to make more than a few pence difference to any given bill compared to a 'typical' value, but it's there for anyone curious.

    Expand the CV entry and pick your region (you may have to guess what that is, LDZ(EM) is East Midlands for Example) and pick start and end dates that match the bill you're checking. Download the CSV and use a program like Excel or Google Sheets to find the average for that period (then round it down to a single decimal place).

    I became familiar with this during my time with Iresa, when they were just using a fixed 11.3 multiplier to convert M3 into kWh in all cases.

  • After submitting my readings to Orbit via their website I noticed the readings are not showing on my account so I messaged them and they responded to say;

    “As there is an ongoing meter reading change you will not be able to submit any meter readings, once this is done your account will go back to normal”

    I have replied requesting more info but they have not responded yet.

    What is a “ meter reading change”?
