Sorry of this is a stupid question but I can’t work it out.
My electricity meter is showing 00850 KWH which is I can submit as a meter read but my Gas meter is showing as 00081.480m3, how do I convert this to KWH?

So submit your 81.48 reading as is to your supplier. If you were to read the meter again in a month's time and say it was then showing 110.00, and you're interested in how many kWh you're using, subtract 81 from 110, giving 29m3 used. As a rough rule of thumb, multiply that 29 by 11 to get kWh - in this case 319kWh. The 11 multiplier varies over time because it depends on the calorific value of the gas, which is quite low at the moment.

You do not need to convert the gas reading to kWh if you are submitting a reading to your supplier, just put in whole units, in your case 81.
Only the supplier can do the conversion
My last EDF bill shows how they do it
GAS UNITS USED X CALORIFIC VALUE (39.7) X VOLUME CORRECTION (1.02264) ÷ 3.6

Thank you so much for your help but I am still confused, I have attached the screenshot below, do I enter 00081 or 81480 as my meter read?0

The screenshot clearly tells you not to enter anything after the decimal point, so you will put in '00081', or just '81'

Enter 00081. A reading of 81480 would trigger a bill of about £64,000 (but it would be rejected).

The Business Energy site allows you to enter the calorific value (shown on your bills) which can affect the accuracy of the conversion.
