unresponsive dealer - car missing advertised options

Problem I've got is they're over an hour away so don't want to turn up and them try and fob me off or not have time to do it. So would rather get it confirmed then take it in for them to fix.photome said:Go to the dealers with the car, explain the issues any decent dealer should rectify all 3 of your issues and as yet you dont know that they wont, please come back and tell us what they say though

I agree but I want to talk to them fully prepared. The problem I have is that in the advert, the wording is, this car comes fully equipped with full link (Seat's software for android/carplay). That gives the impression to me that you can use it from the off.
Well, the only way to "give them a kick up the backside" is to talk to them, isn't it?JamesN said:I'm not looking for a CRA and yes I do think I have that option on the 30 day exchange. However, I'm more looking to give them a kick up the back side and get them to sort issues that should've been sorted with the numerous checks they do on the car, as well as give me what was advertised.
The question we can answer is surely more what your position is if they refuse...
As far as CarPlay goes, there's two elements to it. You buy a new car that's got the software installed, and you need to buy the licence code to activate it. That activation then applies to the VIN of the car through its life (or until Apple decide to withdraw or change the service - and they will certainly have retained that right!). So you are in the same position as if you'd bought this car new. CarPlay is installed. If you wish to use it, you need to pay Apple's fee to do so. The person who had your car before you didn't - that doesn't mean it isn't installed.
Its a Seat. They advised it'd be £150-200 for a code but that was before I found proof of the advert.born_again said:What make of car?
Apple car play does not require any activation code. And is a free to use, unless car manufacture charges you.
BMW used to charge after 1st year, but this was due to the way it was integrated into their software. Dropped last year.
Give me some credit!! Of course I have :Proddydogs said:We assume youve cleaned both the winsdscreen and wiper blades throughly Then tried them.0 -
Seems from checking seat forums etc. That you need "Full link" which is what you have to pay for to be able to use AA or CarPlay.Life in the slow lane0

I am with the OP if it is advertised as having carplay etc, there shouldnt be any need to spend another £150born_again said:Seems from checking seat forums etc. That you need "Full link" which is what you have to pay for to be able to use AA or CarPlay.
i thought most seats came with Full link now but wasnt aware it was an extra cost, although back in 2017 it was probably only on top spec cars.
OP what car are we talking about0 -
Its the wording that is misleading though. They say it comes fully equipped with full link. To me that is suggesting its ready to use. They should've said it needs a key to activate the software which is additional expense.born_again said:Seems from checking seat forums etc. That you need "Full link" which is what you have to pay for to be able to use AA or CarPlay.
If you were comparing it to a hardware component, its like saying it comes fully equipped with a spare wheel, but the wheel doesn't have a tyre on it, which they don't mention. Obviously thats easier to spot.0 -
Seat Alhambra. The full link software is standard on the trim level I got (Xcellence) so for them to call it out separately saying its fully equipped, you assume its got the activated software. Otherwise, I don't see how its fully equipped.photome said:
