Prolific Extra Income Unit Trust Managers Limited - HELP! by Jerry_Bowen · 4 November 2010 at 10:56AM
I too have found a Accumulation Unit Certificate belonging to my late father dating back to Aug 1991. Googling suggests that Scottish Provident, Aberdeen Standard and Henderson all got involved with the purchase of Profolic Funds at some stage in the past. I have contacted all these firms but too no avail. The trustees and registrar is Lloyds Bank plc now Equiniti. They also deny any knowledge.
Can anyone help please.0

Wow, they took this round the block a few times, didn't they? (Ignore what I earlier thought had happened to it)
It seems the Prolific Extra Income Unit Trust became the Aberdeen Prolific Extra Income Unit Trust, which still existed in June 2001: https://investegate.co.uk/taverners-trust-plc--sigt-/rns/notifiable-holding/200106071348148766E/
Aberdeen Extra Income Unit Trust (probably the same thing) was merged into the Aberdeen Equity Income OEIC sub-fund: https://www.investmentweek.co.uk/investment-week/news/1372305/aberdeen-merges-funds
New Star acquired that, and turned it back into a unit trust - "New Star Equity Income": https://www.investmentweek.co.uk/investment-week/news/1396773/-star-convert-oeic-unit-trust
Henderson took over New Star, and in 2009 merged New Star Equity Income into New Star Higher Income: https://citywire.co.uk/wealth-manager/news/henderson-new-star-to-merge-away-three-funds/a344909
In 2010 that was renamed to Henderson Higher Income: https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/5482801/integration-update-henderson-global-investors/3
In 2012, that was renamed (and the objective changed) to be Henderson Global Equity Income Fund (see under "General Information" near the bottom): https://www.janushenderson.com/en-gb/investor/product/janus-henderson-global-equity-income-fund-oeic/
That has since had a "Janus" tacked on to the front of its name.
I'd suggest sending that chain to Janus Henderson, and saying it appears it turned into their Global Equity Income Fund. They shouldn't just be denying all knowledge. If there's something incorrect, they should be able to point it out.
