Prolific Extra Income Unit Trust Managers Limited - HELP!

I have found some old - November 1988 - Unit Trust Cerificates issued by Prolific Unit Trust Managers Limited with Royal Bank of Scotland as trustee.
I have searched on line and it appears that the companies investments were transferred to Aberdeen Unit Trust and then to Scottish Provident, etc, etc.
Have tried calking Scottish Provident and RBS but do not seem to be getting anywhere.
I need to know who to talk to to find out if the Unit Trust Certificates are still valid - can anyone help?

Near as I can tell, Scottish Provident sold Prolific in 1997 to Aberdeen, which is still going. However, in 2003 Aberdeen sold 7 unit trusts to New Star, now incorporated into Henderson.
If that's right your fund is either incorporated into something still run by Aberdeen, or incorporated into something now run by Henderson.
Loosk like Aberdeen might be the people to talk to."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
