There is an ST Line grade on Ford cars which aren't really ST but have some of the stylings of an ST.  Is she sure she ordered an ST rather than an ST Line?  It's a bit like a BMW 320 Msport.  Has the body pack etc without the turbocharged V block of a true M.  What model Year does the order form show?

I had trouble with a couple of local Ford dealers last December when I was looking to order a new car.
I set my spec, which was obviously a factory build but they kept trying to flog me different spec models that were already built.

It got so bad they were firing quotes for different spec cars at me left, right and centre, in the end they were trying to cover the fact they were pricing up a mint green manual when I wanted a white auto. They kept telling me they'll see what colours are available when I place the order, even though it was on the screen as green!
When I pointed it out, they started all over again and we still ended up in the same place.

I kept getting told I'd get a better discount on a pre built car, even though it wasn't what I wanted, yet when they ran the figures I was still being quoted list price.

In the end I told them I couldn't do business with them as they obviously couldn't understand my needs even after hours of explaining.

I expect the same has happened to your daughter, she told them what she wanted and they've flogged her the nearest thing in stock, yet they'll be nothing on paper to suggest otherwise.
I also suspect if you kick up a big enough fuss they'll point out she didn't pay the price for the model wanted, but paid for the model ordered.

    Ford salesman??????
I went to my local dealership and the first words I said were,
"I want to BUY a new Fiesta".
He spent the next hour toing and froing between me and the back office coming up with all sorts of offers for PCP and had no intention of selling me a new car for cash.
In the end I just walked out.

I think we are establishing that Ford actually produce the Fiesta ST(N)  where N is a positive integer ( is it up to 5  or 6 now?), which is always the "top of the range" fully loaded model with all the trim & go-faster parts, and the Fiesta STLine, which isn't. To those of us who don't take much notice, either could be referred to as an "ST", and we'd assume it was the go-faster one.

Most manufactures have intermediate trim levels that swap names and "loose" bits as time goes on, my own woeful Renault Nissan has, amongst other things, pic-a-nic tables and under seat storage that disappeared from the supposedly same trim level as parts ran out, I think by the end of production you were lucky if all 4 wheels matched :)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
