Control-arrow key combination broken behaviour in UI for message compose box in HTML view

I'm sure such a fundamental thing must have been complained about before, but search isn't throwing anything useful up.
When is the ctrl-arrow functionality in the message edit box going to be fixed?
- Ctrl-left and Ctrl Right should go to the next word boundary within the same line.
- Shift-Ctrl-Left and Shift-Ctrl-Right should highlight from original cursor position to the next word boundary within the same line.
Instead these key combinations move/highlight to the left/right of the edit box; this appears to duplicate the expected behaviour of the Home and End keys (with or without shift.)
If this has been discussed before, would someone kindly link to the thread(s) talking about it, so I can follow along? Ta.
