ID Mobile

I signed up in Dec - 2 yr iPhone contract. Has been a disaster from the get go and now in a room not
far from the router my mobile picks up 4G in preference to my actual WiFi. Is ID mobile boosting the 4G signal? I’ve unwittingly ended up paying over the odds for data.

Post makes no sense, the WiFi from your router has  nothing to do with ID. Sounds more like the phone has a hardware issue if WiFi is not being picked up.

Switch off mobile data when in that room. Do other pieces of hardware receive a good wifi signal from that same router?
I wish iD(Three) would "boost" their 4G signal! I have just the opposite at home and find it necessary to use wifi calling there.
  • Thanks tried switching off mobile data and it doesn’t help with browsing. It’s happening to my boyfriend’s phone too and other phones so it’s not a hardware issue.
    I’ve bought a WiFi extender.

It would appear that the problem possibly lies with the router's wifi signal. Maybe the router is faulty?
You say "not far from the router". I would have thought the signal should be fine depending on the definition of not far and how many obstacles are present. It could even be something electrical interfering with the signal.
    Has the wifi extender helped?

it is the problem of your home broadband wifi. Nothing to do with ID mobile.
wifi extender could be useless if you don't have signal.
Try powerline + wifi adaptor or Mesh wifi.
