Help!

Options

Hi all,

Cutting a long story short, I left my phone in a cab on Thursday night in Glasgow. I’ve done all the usual things to try and relocate it over the weekend but am now pretty resigned to not getting it back and am now looking at options going forward. All been pretty unpleasant!

I didn’t have the phone insured through my provider Tesco (possibly not my finest hour). It was an iPhone so all my “stuff” is on icloud, and for that reason I’d really prefer a straight like for like replacement for the one I lost. I guess then I’m faced with the following options:

·         buying a replacement from Tesco (they want £450ish)

·         buying a replacement elsewhere

·         buying myself out of contract (I’m 13 months into a 24month line rental, 36 month phone contract) and then starting again.

It would be good for me to hear from folk that have been through the same situation and hear what your solution was.

Thanks!

People have done all three.  But it would be better for you to do what's right for you.

Which is the cheapest option that gets you what you want?

They are your only options, I cant see another option that others would have used.
Can you afford the £450 ?
Which iPhone model are you looking at ?
Can you afford to buy yourself out of the contract ?
Do whichever option is best for you
You don't need phone insurance, just be more careful where your phone is.
I take it the phone was protected, PIN lock etc ?

You can get a 4S for about £40 now in places like CEX.  Obviously not ideal but would perhaps tide you over until your contract ends.
Used to be Bogof_Babe.  It did need updating!
