I am in stable employment yes, same amount each month etc
I am just concerned as my mobile phone contract is in arrears, and I am not entirely sure my DMP can help with that? There are a couple of other debts too that are not included with the DMP.
This is where I am with my DMP:
    Total paid to date: £3,686.46
Last payment date and amount: 04/02/2020 £10.00
Next payment date and amount: 23/03/2020 £202.89
Estimated total remaining debt: * £7,252.89
    Estimated completion date: * 23/02/2023
(this is non inclusive of £2k to PayPal, my EE mobile phone which is around £300 and another £100 pay day loan I got out some time ago)

I will also admit that the companies have been harassing me some what. They text daily and ring a multiple amount of times. I have gone through to get the IVA sorted, twice, but bottled it.
  • @paperstars Unfortunately I'm not sure if they can help with your mobile contract - have you spoken to anyone at Payplan about this... they will be able ot confirm about the mobile contract... Do they know about the other debt for £100 or where they only able to help with certain ones?
Does your monthly payment to Payplan change? or is it normally set to £202.89 and last month was a one off?
slightly concerned with the companies calling you as well - as soon as i went into my DMP the calls stopped and they dealt with the DMP company direct

Re the mobile phone, what are going to do, worse case is cut you off (and you get a payg phone with new number and get a break from the hassle). Yes they will default you and harm credit history, but nothing compared to what an IVA will do.

imho you need to focus on the following
    - a budget you can realistically stick to (and this can be used to see if a DMP, or wether another option is better
    - not taking on new debt

I’m guessing the amounts being different is due to the debts not included in DMP exerting pressure to pay. The fact that these presumably newer debts occurred is imho evidence that the budget the DMP was worked on wasn’t workable (or there’s a problem controlling spending)

You do not owe enough money to make an IVA worth it for you - so forget about that.
As you havent posted up SOA no one can advise you further.

  • @paperstars if you are able to fill in your SOA and post it - if you google SOA calculator it's the first site lemonfool.   We might be able to get a better understanding of where its going wrong and be able to help advise how to help/cut back etc :)

Basically, I was paying a £280 amount for a good year or so, then did an annual review and it worked out at £202 that I could afford to pay to them. I was then unable to pay them for the last two months so a £10 minimum payment was required.
