Are you in S Scotland ?  If so it is highly likely, as you have 2 13 digit numbers beginning 18, that you have 2 MPANs and paying 2 standing charges.  Quite a common scenario in that region with electric heating.

For clarity since it is day and I can think better see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meter_Point_Administration_Number
The mpan is S followed by the top line digits and then the bottom ones. However the bottom 13 (12 + check digit in reality) are know as the mpan core and generally all anyone wants. For this reason people tend to just call it mpan rather than mpan core and often cause confusion as I would expect many peopel even in call centres do not know what the full mpan is!

  • Thanks folks. There has been another card put through the door and this one has the MPAN number on it so I filled it in at the morrisonds.com my-read page. The two numbers I originally mentioned were both on the card but I only entered one of them and it said successfully submitted and came up with the correct meter serial number. That should be that sorted but it's a nightmare anything to do with Scottish Power. I'm currently having my own nightmare with them.
