MPAN number question

I need to enter meter readings online and need to enter the MPAN number first. I know the number can be found on the bill but I don't have a bill. I have found a letter with MPAN: followed by a 13 digit number and another 13 digit number underneath it, 26 digits in total. Everything I've found on Google says the MPAN is a 21 digit number. These two numbers on the letter both begin 18000 followed by 8 digits. I'm not sure if I should enter the 18000+ the 8 digits then leave the 18000 out of the bottom number and only enter the remaining 8 digits. I really need to enter the readings ASAP, tonight if possible. It's Scottish Power. I don't have the account details or anything, only the readings and a letter with this/these numbers. Any ideas which numbers I need to enter? It's not my meter but I need to deal with it.

Thanks but I just can't figure out what to put in and leave out from studying it. As I say, both numbers on the letter begin with 18000 which is a bit of a coincidence. The two numbers are also listed at the top of the page almost as one continuous 26 digit number but with a one digit gap between the first 13 numbers and the last 13 numbers.
*Edit.. Going by the example and all other examples I've seen, the first part of the number should begin 02 but the number on the letter begins 18

The top row will start 02 if the meter is Economy 7, 01 if not.
The bottom row will be 13 digits starting 18, because 18 is Scottish Power.
Could this page help: https://www.spenergynetworks.co.uk/pages/what_is_my_mpan.aspx ?

I don't want to put the full numbers on here as I don't know if they can be used in some scam or other but the first part of the number is 1800020****** so there is an 02 in there (and night storage heating in the house) but the other 13 digits begin 1800054****** so I'm still none the wiser. The form you linked to would be handy but the person whose meter it is has died and we are not sure exactly at this point whose name it is actually in, don't know if it was in her name or if it was ever changed or not and just kept coming out the joint bank acc because the letter I found was from 3 years ago. I tried to enter the readings on the MorrisonDS website who do it on behalf of Scottish Power but the address wasn't recognised which was what then led me to have to enter the MPAN number that I can't figure out. There was a card through the door to enter the readings online within 48 hours. I think it might just have to be that they send an estimate and at least a bill should be sent and be able to get details from that and put in readings afterwards. Thanks for your help Talldave

I think you might have 2 MPANs. What type of meter do you have and how many readings are there in total

It always wants the 13 digit bottom line, not the top line info of indeed the S that prefixis it all. (at least in my experience).

If you have meter numbers and care to PM me them I can look them up if you do not have them, but I guess yo uare too paranoid about people knowing the address.

Anyway it's the bottom line they want.

They are electric, 2 readings, one day and one night. I don't know what the meter numbers are (do you mean serial numbers) and I suppose I had better not give out any address info since it isn't my own propery. Thanks though.

Are you in S Scotland ?  If so it is highly likely, as you have 2 13 digit numbers beginning 18, that you have 2 MPANs and paying 2 standing charges.  Quite a common scenario in that region with electric heating.

Ohh fell asleep! Are there also 2 meters. Though there are many multiple mpan setups with one meter but I am not familier with those in scotland. They usually have at least 3 reasdings though, but I have seen some with 2 if I remember right!
