help with fine
I read the newbie section and got lost in a wall of text can someone please explain (treat me like an idiot my next step)
I appealed a fine with euro car parks, I parked outside franky and bennies restaurant during the recent storms heavy rain and winds and we literally parked and ran to the door and stayed there for dinner. Didnt see any signs regarding parking due to the torrential downpours and flooding just assumed it was the restaurants car park since we parked literally at the front door
I appealed through the website using the template letter and got a rejection email
Is my next stage visiting the popla website and appealing through that? is there a template letter to appeal there, i tried the newbie section and got lost in a wall of text

fyi these are the signs, note not 1 of them is facing the driver as they enter the car park there are sideways on and the text cant be read from the car when driving in due to text size. Now add in black skies , gale force winds and torrential rain, theres no way these could be read or seen under these conditions

With respect, this is an involved, convoluted, and complicated subject. It is certainly not a matter in which an idiot should become involved as, being a self-help forum, much of the work has to be done by the poster.. Keep reading the stickies until they make sense.Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -

BTW, this is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex clamper seeking financial recompense for the damage they allege you have done to them The Law calls it a claim for a breach of contract, we call it a scam. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

Yes there are template POPLA appeal points - in the NEWBIES thread post #3, which isn't a wall of text. We will not repeat them here, they are clear as day and in links explaining each point to use.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

"I just emailed the restaurant " you need to make sure that you get through to the manager ... and I would be looking to email the CEORalph

What Ralph-y said!
Franky & Bennies provided a refuge and a great meal (maybe?). Anyway, show massive appreciation to the CEO unless the manager of the premises sorts this immediately. Move on from that to making it clear that while you'd be inclined to go back time & again, that is now highly unlikely given how you've been stung.
Don't be put off if rebuffed at first, be a right royal pain in the backside if necessary, the restaurant really must cancel this charge on behalf of genuine customers like yourselves.
