Victoria Plumbing say its my fault for not noticing earlier enough?

I'm afraid I agree with KatrinaWaves. I think you've got two shades of white there, rather than white and blue. Your actual installation looks white, whereas the photoshopped image you included is actually blue.
The differently-located waste is a more significant difference and would have been sufficient reason to return the tray. Why wasn't that picked up? It wasn't hidden by the protective film you mentioned. Again though, I can't see how the retailer can be liable for the costs of removing and replacing the tray.0 -
So not only did you not notice for 18 months, you also did not notice until it was actually installed!rueben said:
This is the original Advert imageKatrinaWaves said:Is it blue or is it 'blue in comparison to your other tiles' white can be cool blue, warm white, there are hundreds of shades of white. is it blue actually, or simply a white that clashes with your tiles...
this is what we got:
and this is how the advert images SHOULD have looked

It's just lighting. You don't have the same lighting as thry do in the photo. You had ample opportunity to inspect the goods so I think they're being more than reasonable.2

forgetting the colour, why did you install it if the drain was in the wrong place0

I agree with the others about the colour, it is white just a different shade, however the drain is not the only part that is wrong, the back corner of the advertised one is rounded but yours is angled and even the side corners appear to be more rounded on the advert picture than the one you've received.
Although this could be down to the fact that it has been 18 months and they have changed the design of the tray, so the angles, curves, and drain position may have been different back then.
I can't quite believe that anyone would keep something like this packaged for a full 18 months without checking, I had a new bathroom installed last year and the whole lot was opened and checked over on the day it arrived before being packed up again to store for the three months until fitting. I would never have risked waiting all that time to discover that something was damaged, wrong, or pieces missing, it's too late to sort it when the fitter is in and on a schedule to finish the job.2 -
It's like the blue dress/gold dress all over again!
Sorry, I agree with others, your tray is not blue, it is white, just a different white to your wall tiles, which are a different white to your floor tiles. I'm surprised that at no time before installation did you offer the three different types of white against each other for a match. Are you also thinking of returning your white floor tiles as they look pale yellow compared to your wall tiles?
I also don't think the ad is a colour photos, I think it is black and white. The blue that you have photoshopped onto the ad is not the colour of your tray.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
There are perfectly good reasons for most of your questions I just can't be bothered answering them, because your a smart !!!!!!.peachyprice said:It's like the blue dress/gold dress all over again!

There's only one question being asked and if you're going to get stroppy when people give advice you don't want to hear, perhaps just tell us what answer you want and someone will come along and type it out for you.rueben said:

have you taken off the protective film ?0

deanos said:have you taken off the protective film ?That's what I was about to suggest/ask but thought it too easy a solution. It was mentioned in the opening post as being removed though. On a different note, I would be more concerned about who tiled the enclosure! Also, is it Victoria Plum or Victorian Plumbing?2
