Victoria Plumbing say its my fault for not noticing earlier enough?

I'm currently at "Resolver" getting frustrated with Victoria Plumbing.
I bought a shower frame with a shower tray included from Victoria Plumbing about 1.5 years ago. It comes with a 5 Year warranty. It’s recently been installed and it came to our attention after installation that its really a blue shower tray and looks nothing like the photos supplied. Victoria Plumbing have offer to refund the cost of just the shower tray, not the whole unit (it was bought as a whole unit) £300...I imagen they will offer £50 for just the tray.
They claim it was my responsibility to ensure we received the correct item within 30 Days.
My argument is that the weight of responsibility is on Victoria Plumbing to send the correct item. The time between discovery and notification is irrelevant.
Its too simplistic to say ‘it’s our fault’ for not noticing before we installed it, because when installing a shower tray it’s covered with a protective sheet before and during the tile installation. It’s only when you remove the protective cover do you see how blue this tray is, relative to the white tiles.
Additionally, the drain hole is not in the same place as in the product photos, hence why I guess Victoria Plumbing are making the "gesture of goodwill".
Can I claim the costs to remove and repair this item or is that’s out of my reach, yet £50 for a shower tray is not fair? What’s reasonable/realistic?
Regards Rueben

Is it blue or is it 'blue in comparison to your other tiles' white can be cool blue, warm white, there are hundreds of shades of white. is it blue actually, or simply a white that clashes with your tiles...0

I think their offer is reasonable. You can always push for a little more but if that's the value of the tray, you can't really expect more because I think it's reasonable for them to expect you to have checked the colour before completing the installation, especially after 18 months. They made a mistake, but I can't see that they can be held liable for your installation and replacement costs. In a way, I agree with you that the time between purchase and discovery is irrelevant (surely not "discovery and installation", unless you're saying you noticed 18 months ago but pressed ahead with installation and have only just notified them), because you still could and should have checked before completely installing the tray.0

Yours doesn't look blue (in the 2nd image), it looks polar while the walls & floor look to be cream/eggshell.
Have they offered to replace it?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I do understand your frustration and yes it does look like VP sent you the wrong tray but you’ve blame also for not checking and examining the goods within a reasonable time off receiving them, marking sure you received what you ordered, waste in wrong place should have being spotted easily and shower tray name and colour on box or label
What if they'd being damaged or glass smashed or a crack0 -
is that blue pic one you’ve colourised or a pic of a tray that they offer. I have never seen a blue shower tray.Anyway your picture is not blue, it’s just a different white to your walls and floor.0
