Hi everyone.
I know the best option is to ring but does anyone Know how long it’ll be for my back pay from PIP?
i called and made my claim on 18/10/2019 and had a F2F assessment in January. Last Friday 28th February I received my letter stating they are awarding me PIP with the details of my assessment and what I’ll be getting etc.

However how long would I need to wait for the back pay to my claim date? I’ll be getting paid every 4 weeks on a Monday which I guess will start after I have received the pay dated back to the claim date?
Many thanks!

If you weren't transferring from DLA then it's backdated to the date you first rang to start your claim off. Otherwise there's no backdated money.Usually payment is received before you receive the letter, so if you weren't transferring from DLA then i'd ring PIP to ask.0

It’s not backdated payments I’m referring to. As I stated I’m talking about the backpay to my claim date. Plus I did also state it’s for a new claim. Sorry about the confusion.0

I have heard of people getting their backdated money before the regular payment kicks in. Usually not long.1

Sorry about the confusion.Sorry but you've confused me. If you're simply asking when will you receive your money then the answer is usually between 3-5 working days after payment has been made, depending on who you bank with. As advised, usually payments are received before the decision letter.Your award letter will tell you when to expect payments.1

Backdated money is paid separately to your regular 4 weekly payments.

I think everyone has got a bit confused with my post. I know backdated payments are not paid but you do get the back pay from the start of your claim which for me is the 18th Oct 2019. I know the first payment (Back pay) will be paid separate from the regular 4 weekly payments. I received my award letter 2 days after it was sent but it never told me when exactly the payments will be just ‘every 4 weeks on a Monday’
i just wanted to know how long people waited for the back pay payment (not the regular payments) after receiving their award letter?1 -
I received my backdated money before i received the award letter, which most people do. Usually 3-5 days after payment is made, depending on who you bank with. I did already advise that.

So I rang PIP turns out there’s been a clerical error with my payments. They are urgently getting it sorted and are calling me back today as they said I should of received my payment by now.So as I’m writing this they rang me back. The person dealing with it didn’t finalise the payment section. All done. A new letter is being sent out and my payment will be with me by the end of the week2

So to clear something up.
When you make a 1st PIP claim, and get the letter stating what you will be getting. Do you also get this backdated from when you started the claim?
Ongoing claim at moment, and I thought that it was not backdated.Life in the slow lane0 -
