Firstly if your income is solely from benefits they can not set up an I.P.A.
So please stop worrying about that.
The O.R will usually make contact within a couple of days to arrange an interview and to check on your everyday bank account
They look at your bank accounts to see if anything jumps out.
It sounds like your spending was on smaller amounts which add up to £2k so might not show up.
The money paid to parents can be claimed back but please note this can be sorted and you within the next couple of months start to get peace of mind
They have heard it all before and will be sorted soon.
Please don't worry2 -
Thank you for the reply on the letter I received it said I didn't need another interview don't know if that's good ?? Only thing I'm worried about is my wife has a saving account with £600 in but that's for our holiday will the or look at saving account or just main account many thanks0

It generally means your affairs are straightforwardly and that's good.
If the account is in your wife's name only that's her account not yours0 -
Thank you for the reply and putting my mind at ease a bit0

Yes got a letter asking who I gave the money too my parents have said they will give me the £2000 back anyway0

If you want it over with as soon and as stress free as possible(writing off the 2k) I’d respond with something like‘The money was given to my parents for <insert reason here>I understand that this may not have been permitted, I have spoken to my parents who are prepared to return the money if nessescary’
if you want to try and keep it respond with just this bit, they are likely to ask for it’s return, but if reason given is enough they may decide it’s not worth perusing.
’ The money was given to my parents for <insert reason here>’0
