how much would it cost to get an air vent installed - the kind where they drill a hole in the wall

I just need to have a rough guesstimate at this point, as I am wondering if a dehumidifier is a much cheaper option.

Some more information/details might get some more advice?

Drilling a hole is a simple job. Half a day max IMO.
Everything else depends. Finishing. Electrics - if you want a fan installed.
  • It depends on lots of things, not least the wall.  I live in a granite barn, the hole we had drilled years ago took an eternity to get through - but then it's three feet deep.

A breeze block & cement "brick" wall, you could punch a hole through in 5 minutes - Cost maybe £20.
A listed building in a conservation area would probably take six months by the time all the paperwork has been completed - Cost, £1000+

If you are looking at installing a fan as well, and this is in a bathroom, it will need to be done by a proper electrician and the work certified.
