Your GP can prescribe it.
You do know that the side-effects include faecal incontinence and oil leakage among others?

This can be the case with Xenical but is it the same for Reductil?
Anyway, even if it is, the side effects tend to be short term until your body adjusts.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I once lied about my weight on a web form, and pretended that I was heavier than I really am, in order to get some Reductil. It didn't really have bad side effects, except that I parted with over £100 to get it.
The reason I wanted it in the first place is because I'd been abusing cheaper herbal stimulant diet pills, which I had become psychologically dependant on, but which I had formed a tolerance to. I figured that Reductil might be stronger, and might not be cross-tolerant, so it was worth a try. I learnt my expensive lesson.
So my advice is to go to your GP. If you don't honestly need the stuff, then your GP won't prescribe it.0 -
Hi ilovefreebies. I'm sure that you have read up about this drug if you have decided to try and buy some. But if you haven't it says that you shouldn't use it unless your BMI is over 30.Also that if you don't lose xxx amount in first 4 weeks of use you shouldn't use it any longer. Also it says that this drug is not intended for use as a general slimming aid....only if you have medical issues with your weight and have tried dieting before.Like the others who replied I would advise seeing your doctor first as there is a long list of conditions that if you have any of them you shouldn't use the drug. Also surely it would be cheaper to get a prescription from your GP as he can give you more than 28 pills ......if you're suitable that is.
IMO see your GP first as they can monitor you while you take the drug.
Was thinking of asking my GP for some when I see her as I need help to lose weight but reading the list again it says people who have had or are at risk from a stroke should not use Reductil.......well I have migraines so I guess that rules me out.But I'll ask her and see what she says.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Aliasojo, yes, you're right, I was thinking of Xenical.
I believe that you also have to have your blood pressure closely monitored on Reductil - so definitely worth getting it from your GP rather than buying it online.
My GP has been trying to prescribe some for me, but I'm not interested. I need to lose weight before I have my gallbladder out, but I'd sooner not take pills to do it.

I saw my GP today and mentioned Reductil while I was there. She said under no circumstances would she prescribe this drug to anyone, regardless of how overweight they are.She did mention a drug she prescribes but I can't remember what she called it.Her main reason is that Reductil is an appetite suppresant and as soon as you come off it (only recommended to be on it a yr at most) the weight goes back on.Also there are a lot of health risks involved with this drug which she wouldn't go into as she won't prescribe it anyway. She wouldn't give me any drugs anyway as I'm trying to get pregnant.I always say you can't beat a healthy diet and exercise.I'm kinda following weight watchers as I lost 3 stones on it before.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Reductil is an expensive drug which is why GPs are generally reluctant to prescribe it. I used it for a month, lost loads of weight. However, the I suffered from insomnia for the first week, but was ok after that. It also raised my blood pressure slightly. Any ideas where this can be bought cheaply? Who's selling it for £79 and what guarantee is there that it is the genuine article?0

My doctor was happy to prescribe it for me yesterday, I initially had to go and see him a few weeks ago, he then wanted me to have a go on my own for a few weeks and then see the nurse who talked to me about diet and so on. Anyway had my appointment with the nurse yesterday and she put me straight in with the doctor afterwards and he prescribed it for me, technically I am not quite over 30 but heading that way. I have been trying to diet for about 13 years I started at about 150lbs and I am now getting closer to 195lbs. However, with the help of the doctor and regular checks I am determined.
I told him what I wanted was some help to keep me on the straight and narrow. He said that whilst it would slightly suppress my appetite it would not be as strong as phentermine which i have bought in the past from Slimming Clubs. I find these are so strong that they take away your will to eat which is not a good thing, its a similar effect with Atkins.
However, I am off to Florida at the end of July for three weeks and he said to wait until I come back and then make a determined effort. I have promised to try and learn to like salad whilst in Florida and I am going to aim to have at least a 20 min non stop swimming session everyday in our pool. Will let you know how I get on.
My doctors was of the opinion that if I used Reductil and started to lose weight then it gives you an incentive. He did say however, that I have to be weighed monthly and blood pressure every two weeks, if I have a month where I don't lose weight then I will be taken off it.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz0 -
I was prescribed reductil from my gp, i was on it 2 months when my heart rate and blood pressure shot up, I had to see a cardiologist. Xenical causes dihorrea (i can never spell that!! lol) if u eat something with the slightest bit of fat, its like those tablets the alocoholics get, if they drink it makes them sooo sick, well xenical is a bit like that.0
