Tax Credits vs Universal Credit

Hi Everyone,
We were entitled to Child Tax Credits/Working Tax Credits a few years ago, and have remained "in the system".... we have just received a letter to say that we will be taken off the list at the end of March unless we ask to remain in, and then if we need to reapply in the future it will be for Universal Credit.
Our circumstances are changing (we are separating) - depending on what happens, it is likely that one/both of us could be eligible for some benefits once this has been sorted out. Is there a way to look at what the differences would be under each system?
Thanks in advance,

If you are separating you cannot continue a couples Tax Credit claim anyway. Separating would mean that you have to make individual Tax Credits claims and you are not permitted to do that. Therefore if either of you need benefits following separation it will have to be Universal Credit.
The only exception would be if you are getting an existing means tested benefit with a Severe Disability Premium.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2 -
Thanks both1

njm-----------looking at your previous postings, I merely mention in passing that yesterday you told us about having 13 Credit Cards ( on Credit Card forum) and you could easily manage them. Before that you enquired about Universal Credit, which Calcotti advised you on; and you have one old post from 2012 about whether you should get rid of your luxury penthouse cos it wasn't in a nice area.
Ermmmmmmmmmmmmm ????????????????????

It will depend on how much earnings you receive during your assessment period. If you don't have the work allowance then your earnings will reduce your UC by 63%.
