Afternoon all,We also had a bit of snow but it's mainly gone now - made for a bit of congestion on the roads to DGS school this morning though. His school is at the top of a hill and you can't park close by, we were holding onto each other walking up in case we slid back down
Just had a visit from DB to collect the dog bed I made for one of theirs, he was delighted with it and it only took me a few minutes!Had a nice lunch with my cousins yesterday, then picked up DGC. DGD requested pancakes ( yes I know it was a day late
) Started off with 1 recipe which kept sticking so it got binned and started again with good old Delias.Snoozer & Nan I think Csarina is referring to Richard ( commonly shortened to D**k
)& Angel Strawbridge who are on Channel 4 I think, Escape to the Chateau, about renovating an old French chateau, they have a tour going on at the mo.Welcome Cherry Bakewell, enjoy your new home!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. For those of you who are puzzled. Richard (Shortened form of his name was blanked out) and Angel are the owners of Chateau de la Motte Husson of Escape to the Chateau (ETTC) which has been on channel 4 since 2014 when they bought the run down Chateau and through hard work on both their parts have renovated it to be self supporting. The new series of ETTCDIY starts next month D & A help other Chateau owners with various projects. The new series of ETTC, which they have just finished filming will be on Channel 4 in the Autumn.
They have just started a tour with a programme 'Dare to Do, they are doing one night stands in various cities in the UK over the next couple weeks. they started last Sunday in Edinburgh, then Glasgow, Liverpool and last night Leicester, which is where we met up with them. Their last night is at The London Palladium on 23rd March a total of 16 cities. So Nanny I think you could say they are quite famous........ All the venues on the tour have been sold out for months. The tour starts from the beginning literally and goes through to their situation just now, there is still work to be done. There are films on youtube of the first series they have made.10 -

Welcome Cherry Bakewell. Stick with us, we are a very friendly bunch on here.
I am skulking in the bathroom with a colour on my hair! The hairdresser is due tomorrow so I thought it was time I addressed my grey/white roots!
As expected my quick trip to Aldi with DD was extended into a trawl of the clothes shops as well as she wanted something to wear for an engagement party at the w/e. That involved quite a few shops! I wasn't looking for anything myself but spotted a lovely silky cross over top in Wallis reduced to £10 and a long summer skirt to £5! Couldn't resist! I also spotted a lovely dress which was just me but sadly it wasn't in the sale but I might, just might go back at the w/e and try it on!
I got my soup made (Leek & Potato and Lentil & Bacon) and that's now cooling awaiting blitzing and then freezing. My stocks were dwindling.
Have a nice evening folks and take care. CSARINA your evening sounded enjoyable (I have watched quite a few of D & A's progs). TAFF OMG that doctor's visit sounds scary. I hope it was a false alarm for the patient. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Csarina, mystery solved. We've watched the programme from the start, it's great, I really admire their energy.6

Just a brief pop in. Welcome Cherry Bakewell, I'm a newbie also, they are a loverly bunch. Snoozer, I'm originally from Essex/ Suffolk border but the Fens has been home for over 30 yrs now...blimey where has the time gone!
Well no washing got done today for one reason or another so tomorrow is another day. Had a lovely long walk this afternoon by the river with one of my neighbours and her pooches it was beautifully sunny but the wind she did blow.
Have a good rest of the evening and sweet dreams.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh3 -
Morning everyone. Well it's bright, dry and cold and crisp which is lovely but rain is forecast later so already done my meditation kittys fed and the first load of washing is in. Checked the bank and my last pay has gone in thank goodness and now a waiting game for my notice pay claim to move forward. It's only a week but I am entitled so will still push it forward however long it takes.
Today will be more washing and sorting some bits for the CS. I have been gradually adding bits to it but still some more stuff that needs sorting. Especially down the sheds but I think that might be for better weather.
This morning will be some catch up tv I expect, as OH starts work very late morning we treat morning as our evening if you see what I mean then most of my jobs will be done afternoon/evening.
Feeling a little downcast today and that's after doing my meditation for happiness
I do get this sometimes, I am of a certain age where the hormones take over sometimes and I just have to ride it out. Am hoping that as I'm a couple of years off 60 it will soon sort itself out but no signs yet. Any hoo keep bu**ering on as they say.
Hope everyone has a good day hugs to those that need them.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh2
