Woke up to a covering of snow but stopped now and already melting. I will brave a supermarket visit soon as I am low on essentials but I think North Cotswolds are due rain over the weekend and not further snow. My little granddaughter is improving and her 'chicken spots' as she calls them are scabbing over.12

Morning everyone, up at the crack of dawn to go shopping to miss the forecasted snow which we did, drove through nasty rain tho, snow came in later and has just stopped. We seem to be very lucky here on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. Shopping was done at Mr S as was given a gift card for Christmas and OF loves to shop there. Prices a bit to steep for me plus it's further away. Any hoo shopping only cost just over £8 with the voucher off so worth the trip.
I have quite a lot of washing to do today which will end up in the dryer, General tidy round and then telephone calls to make for myself and OF.
Might even light the wood burner, it feels like that sort of a day.
Hugs to them that needs them. Have a good day all. X‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh10 -

Good morning everyone - I am new! And this is my very first post! I have been looking at the OS board and posts as I am just moving into my own place for the first time at 36! I have only ever lived with my parents or partners before this - never on my own and am really keen to save as much money as possible so this board is amazing! Its snowing here in Bedfordshire, and has been since 630 this morning. Nothing is settling on the roads, but there is a good covering on the grass. I am waiting in at my new flat for the broadband router to be delivered - furniture has arrived and I will start to build this after work. Tomorrow night is the first nights sleep here! Have a good day everyone! x16

We are home after a great night at The De Mont. Hotel was ok, a bit basic, but clean and comfortable, nice firm bed and the extra pillows we asked for supplied no problem. Out taxi ordered for 6.45pm never arrived. A part time taxi driver gave us a lift down. No taxis on the way back, we started to walk and ended up with a uber taxi!! Note to self put uber app on my phone!!
The show started promptly, the children were with !!!!!! and Angel, but went off after about 5 minutes with Grandpa after they had done the shout out. It was a bit weird seeing our names floating across the back drop.
The show was very entertaining, lots of laughs and its the first time I have heard the whole audience clap for a solid 5 minutes when D & A came onto the stage. It was broken into 2 x 1 hour segments with an interval.......and at the end there was a meet and greet. I knew this was going to happen so as soon as D & A started to move off the platform I was away, we managed to get fairly well up in the queue. by the time we started to move the queue was right round the room in 4 snakes and down the corridor. The capacity of The De Monfort Hall is 2,000 and it was fully booked
I was able to have a brief chat with Angel and !!!!!! with DB.......I have some photos which I will publish on my blog.
We were shattered when we got back to the hotel, so it was a cuppa. quick wash and into bed.
After a very good breakfast we set off for home.
Its a bright day, there may have been some snow, but it certainly did not lie and the lane we prefer to use was open, so no round the area trip to get home. The lane from the village up to Harby is still closed.
Just going to unpack the case and put it away until our next trip to Yorkshire in May.
Supper tonight is chicken casserole with dumpling. No idea about dessert.11 -
Welcome to MsCB - good to see you!Glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves Csarina - who are D&A, are they family members? The lovely neighbour has been and taken down the very heavy corded curtains. They are filthy, not been down for about 20 years and are (were) cream. The cleaner has helped me take off the linings and curtain hooks so I can take the four curtains to the dry cleaners - well, I say 'I can', in reality it will be my lovely friend Alan who will do this tomorrow as I can't lift them all. Now there's just the heavy furniture to be shifted tomorrow when Alan comes round.Whilst all this was going on there was a phone call from the engineer to service the two flashing / klaxoning lights DM has which are linked to the intercom outside. They hadn't worked since a power cut last and I don't need them, turns out that one was unplugged and now they are working again. Cleaner is just finishing up, she helped me fold the curtains and change my bed linen.Whacked... need a wee breather.11

Morning all (just),
Lovely sunny day so far, slept late, just had cornflakes, will have an early lunch, still having first cup of tea, will then go for paper......DH has to have his paper. Might go for a walk as OH is having trouble with his circulation so needs to move as much as possible. Then trout green beans and potatoes. We will then hoover and mop floors and sit down with several cups of tea awaiting return of wanderers who have had a great holiday and recommend Malta highly.
Welcome Cherry Bakewell......you will like it here.....congratulations on your new home.......I am more than double your age and have never lived alone!
Csarina glad you had a good trip.
Hugs to all, have a good day and stay warm and safe

Ms Cherry Bakewell, I live in North East Bedfordshire so welcome to the County.
Roblou, my son Chris and his wife Crystal live in the Cambridgeshire fens so probably aren't that far from you.
Csarina, I must have missed something while I was away because I couldn't decode your post at all. Who are D & A and the site has censored one of the words just to make things harder.
I'v been to collect the new bedding from M & S. I'm on the hunt for new curtains but might have to shell out on made to measure because I can't find anything I like.11 -
Morning all! OK, Afternoon all! Up early again but wayliad by various things. I spent a lot in the the yellow blue giant but didn't buy a sofa. I got a rug for the kitchen [ weirdly, the kitchen looks smaller without one], a special pillow for me [ OH had one so I tried it, liked it and the rest was an idiom....] , a couple of presents for two birthdays coming up, and a half price balck metal flask thing which I will use to keep me in coffee. I had a laugh with the girl in the bargain corner about how to use it, open it etc, so she knocked some more off it for me...nice girlI have to go to the docs today to read a report but will be wearing my mask it's a motorbike thing that wraps round your ears as well to keep them warm so doesn't look like a mask] because some idiot decided they might have coronavirus and went to the surgery [ because either they were too stupid to read news telling people not to or they were just too stupid] . The surgery got disinfected and is open again but overkill or not, I'm going to be careful. I can do without that.Fire is on because it's very cold today and there was snow fairly locally but we didn't see any. I'm in he camp of I love snow, but I do appreciate we don't see enough of it for it be that hazardous.I chopped up the rosemary the wind blew over last week? the week before? and put it in the green bin for collection today, it filled the entire bin even after being chopped which should give you some idea of the size of it. Now all that's left is a straggly branch or two and some hanging over the fire to dry. Need to get a couple more normal sage plants for the hole when the weather gets better. I had two purple sage bushes but they weren't very strong tasting, the green is much better. Does anyone know how the variegated one tastes?Nelski, well, it's defiitelya goal to aim for as lng as you're not going to overdo things and push yourself too much. Waggy finger etc. But at the same time you are doing really well by the sonds of it so cancel the waggy finger...Gers, hooray, clean curtains a go go! Gird loins for disruption time. TA, enjoy the no bogbake day! mehefin, sorry about your mobility, hope the poison dwarf doesn't ruin the mrs's birthday...Hester, good to know you haven't been washed away on a sea of well...sea? OK, extra river...right, got to go annoy the cat reciprocally....Hey all readers along! Torpid Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Hello all, I'm back for take 2 ! I'll try not to hit the wrong button this time.We have sunshine ! The wind is blowing a gale but I've chanced putting the bedding out, so I hope it dries a bit.Mr Fix It informed me that we had snow overnight / early this morning and it was still sleeting when he went out for his daily walk, however I slept through it and it was gone by the time I saw the light of day !I've stripped the bed, washed the bedding and done another load. I've dusted the bedroom but I've yet to hoover upstairs. I also emptied the DW and had lunch, which was a small salad ( polishing halo ). Meanwhile Mr Fix It was on the phone to S*Y as they wanted to put our monthly bill up by 20%
. We don't mind paying extra for TV, but not for the broadband as our levels are so slow. ( I would have gone along with cancelling the whole lot ) One hour later we are almost on the same rates and an upgrade to a Q box for no charges.
Dad has an open invitation for tea and he will ring if he's not up to coming, so I'm going to do fish and chips for us, Mr Fix It will have chicken and chips as he's allergic to all fish. I'll have to rummage in the chest freezer first as I know the fish is in there...... bet it's at the bottom !MsCherryBakewell welcome. I won't forget your name as they are one of my favourite cakes ( but we call them t*t cakeslong story ) I don't know how much help I will be to you, but feel free to pick my brains anytime ( if you can find them
) I may be older but not necessisarily wiser.
Csarina glad you had a lovely time. I too was puzzled about D&A. Are they famous ?Right the hoovering won't do itself, I wish, so I'd better get to it.Take care and hugs to allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
