4G Home Broadband
Options
I'm looking at sim only contracts from Three for a 4G Home Router.
My question is fairly simple - is there any difference between a "phone" sim and a "data" sim. The reason I ask is I can get a phone sim with unlimited calls, texts and data whereas a data sim only provides data and calls and texts are charged on a per minute or per text basis. I plan to plug my cordless phones into a compatible router and therefore could make use of the calls on the phone sim unless there's some reason I can't use this in a router.

The T&C's may differ.Unlimited never is. There is always some limit.0

Three used to claim a phone SIM cannot be used in a MiFi/router/dongle... However it appears they do work. You have to wonder why a Three phone SIM with unlimited calls/texts/data costs much less than a Three data SIM with only 100GB of data.Maybe there are issues with using the phone SIM in non phone devices, but I cannot see any restrictions in the Three T&Cs. In any case you have unlimited tethering with the phone SIM, which amounts to the same usage as it would have in a MiFi, etc.All very strange. BTW, I am on Three and use tethering a lot, I find the data rate via an iPhone on 4G pretty good.0

Three phone unlimited tariff with limit of 1000GB per month

Is there any limit on Unlimited data?
There’s no hidden caps or limits when you use Unlimited in the UK. You’ll get all the access to the internet you’d normally need, without hefty bills. So you can binge to your heart’s content. But use of our services for commercial, resale or fraudulent purposes isn’t allowed. You can read more about this in our Terms for Three Services.
Our usage policy varies if you’re using data abroad. Make sure you check before you travel at three.co.uk/go-roam
